1) Get the 2006 USAB Junior Nationals to ChicagoLand!
From:
dd@...
My name is David Dew I work for the Greater Woodfield Convention and
Visitors Bureau in Schaumburg. My job is to help find and bring in
tournaments, meetings and conventions that have over room nights into
the area. Our area is 13 northwest suburbs, Palatine on the north,
Hoffman on the West, Bloomingdale on the south and Elk Grove on the
east.
I have been trying to find space to host a future (2006) Junior
Nationals and have not had much luck. I have been in contact with
some of the local badminton folks. The event is in July, I believe
the 23-28. Keeping in mind that we want the particpants to stay in
hotels in the northwest suburbs, can anyone think of a place that
would have 12-16 courts and seating for 800+?
I have found that high schools are hard with summer school and camps,
same with Harper College. I hope that I am missing a venue.
Any help would be appreciated. Can you email me with your ideas to
dd@... ?

[NOTE: Do try and help David out. A big badminton event will give
the sport a boost in the Chicagoland area.]

Subject: Misplaced Badminton racquet at Park Ridge on Nov 3rd 2004
Hi Folks,
I left my MP-88 Yonex in the Maine East High School Gym , Park Ridge
after play on Wednesday Nov 3rd.
I'm hoping somebody who left at around 10:30 tonight might've noticed
it on the floor (near where we queue up the racquets to get courts),
and picked it up.
Please email me and let me know if you've done so, I'd really
appreciate it.
Thanks,
Naresh.
