Thanks for the reference.
I've had that article for some time, and if I am recalling the
article correctly, it makes assumptions about the lack of art and
footwork in the ancient arts that really sell them quite short. He
sounds much like Victorian authors who speak of older swordplay, and
makes many of the same assumptions about the past.
It is worth getting it if for nothing else than the artwork it
includes, and you can use that and the primary references while
taking all the author's commentary with a big rock of salt :-)
