Most often the older manuals only refer to rounding blows and for the
most part they are frowned upon but Mendoza wrote about round blows to
the side of the head and body so we know they at least go that far
back. If you look at some of the later period manuals you would almost
swear that the round blow was not et invented.

ANyhow before I ramble on too much....Mike Donovans book has some nice
photo sequences of the rounding blow being used. One of out best
sources for the blow however is a short film clip of a past his prime
J.L. Sullivan mugging for the camera with another boxer at the Johnson
vs. Jeffries fight...he throws a nice inverted rounding blow during
the clip.
