Hello everyone!
I am a new member, so I am posting a little bit about myself. My
name is Rebecca, and I'm 24 years old. I have wanted to take fencng
classes for about 6 years and couldn't find a place, and thought it
was too expensive. Well, I am getting married in May, so I thought
fencing sounded like more fun than ballroom dancing, and I found a
close-by fencing club and signed my fiance and I up for lessons. (He
was happy to avoid the ballroom dancing as well.) I have only had 4
lessons, but I can definitely say I have been bitten by the bug! It
seems I can't get enough! I leave the class every week wanting to do
more, and I can't get through a day without picking up the foil at
least once. In just a few short weeks, I think I can understand a
little bit of what makes you (the general fencing community) fall in
love with this sport. I have always been a "jack of all trades" but
this feels like something that could give not only entertainment, but
meaning.
It is great to meet everyone. I hope that someday I can help some
one who is starting out, and thirsts for more information... In the
meantime, I'll suck you all dry, if that's all right by you!
Thanks for reading,
Becca
