Greetings unto all right and noble fighters of Caid,

On Saturday September 20th, 2008 at 2:00 PM. until 4:00 PM., Hugh
Knight (a.k.a./SCA Sir. Count Rhys, of Harlech), Fechtmeister of die
Schlachtschule: "The School of Battle", will give a two-hour class on
the use of the pollaxe in medieval armored combat. Students will
practice hands-on applications of techniques from various fifteenth-
century fight books, including Le Jeu de La Hache and Talhoffer.
Pollaxe simulators will be provided however students may bring their
own if they prefer.

Die Schlachtschule is dedicated to the study of medieval martial
arts. We focus particularly on the teachings of Liechtenauer as
interpreted by Döbringer, Ringeck, von Danzig, Le Jeu de la Hache and
Talhoffer, as well as material from other fight books of the
fourteenth through fifteenth centuries, either in or out of armor,
that pertain to the knightly class.
