An open workshop will be held on Saturday 24 May 2008 in the
Carl-von-Weinberg-Schule Sporthalle, zur Waldau 21, 60529 Frankfurt/Main,
Germany from 1 p.m. on.  The workshop is sponsored by TV Passau, Klassisches
Fechten Soest, and a newly-formed group in Frankfurt. Its theme will be
classical fencing in southern and northern Europe, 1650-1900.  The program will
be led by Sigfred Raczka, master of TV Passau, who emphasizes Neapolitan
tradition, and by me. I will focus on the development in northwestern Europe of
what became identified as French-style fencing.  The workshop will offer an
introduction to shared basics for neophytes and beginners, free-fencing for
intermediate and advanced fencers, and a one-touch epee tournament followed by
individual and small-group lessons.  There will be a €10 door fee.  For
