Having just joined this list I thought I'd introduce myself as custom demands.

Age: Forty-Something :-)

Since I'm based in Auckland I'm fairly isolated in terms of the Classical
Fencing community. I and
my associates started with visual fencing with the Foil as a method of starting
fencing several
years ago but then moved on to study Italian Rapier (and later Spanish and
German Rapier) as we
did not want to head down the Olympic electric fencing route.

Having established ourselves we are now looking to return to classical fencing
with the Italian
school as our focus as it logically fits in with our Rapier studies. We are
planning to use
William Gaugler's book "The Science of Fencing" as the basis of our study.

So, anyone have any suggestions on the best way to bootstrap an isolated
Classical Fencing Salle?
