Dear All, thought some members might be interested in
the following: I am a part-time history instructor at
a local community college (I live in Alxeandria VA).
The college has aproved a 3 semester-hour history
elective called "The History and Practice of the
Sword". Three-quarters of the course will be research
covering the sword from the Bronze Age to modern
times, with input from Homer, Caesar, Tacitus,
Plutarch and others up to Churchill, Bernard
Montgomery, and Patton. The "Practice" portion will be
the use etc of the fencing sabre as taught in the
1950's (when there was still some connection to the
duelling and fighting weapon. Wish me luck. Ray Smith
