Klassisches Fechten Soest will hold its Spring Foil Seminar on Saturday,
April 29, outdoors in the Wall Park, directly behind the 17th century
half-timbered headquarters of Volkshochschule Soest, Noettenstrasse 29, 59494
Soest.
In case of rain (a real possibility in the German spring!) the location will
be the Patrokli Grundschule Sporthalle, 17 Schonekindstrasse, just around the
corner.
The program theme will be "...To Not Be Hit." Theatrical Fecht-Meister
Peter Theiss, a KFS/Volkshochschule Soest participant, will give a
demonstration of stage technique with longsword, rapier and dagger, and
smallsword.
Master Theiss' presentation is a prelude to planned expansion of the KFS menu
to
theatrical and historical swordplay.
The day will end with juried bouting with all three traditional weapons.
The seminar is open and free of charge. Visit us in Soest, the loveliest
walled town in this part of Germany!
Our new website is currently under construction and should be up and running
in about two weeks, fingers crossed (the delay is my fault, me nervously
working and re-working and boiling down text in two languages). It will be
light-years, nay, mega-parsecs from the crude and sprawling Word-into-HTML site
created by the technomoron and former academic that I am! Thanks for that to
KFS fencers who are professional web-designer types. Our program--in easily
navigable German and English versions--will be there for all to see, and we
will happily invite comments.
Wilkommen zu Hanse Stadt Soest!
