Although the forecast call for rain for the weekend, but if the weather clears
and Saturday is
dry and Sunday is clear, a group will caravan up to LBL Sunday morning. So far
that group
includes me, Willie & Chuck and, perhaps, Ty from the Bicycle Center. If you
would like to join
us, we're going to meet at 7:30 at the commuter parking lot at Rossview Rd and
Exit 8. All
are welcome.

I can't make Sunday afternoon. Saturdays generally are better for me. But on
Sun, Nov 12,
Sam, Willie, Ty, and I are going to do the Canal Loop. We're gonna leave
Clarksville pretty
early, 7:30 or 8. Everyone's welcome.
It's been about 3 years since I've ridden Montgomery Bell. Do you know Chris
Clark? That's
one of his favorite trails and I think he spends time grooming it too.

There are several plans in effect in Montogemery County, when Trenton Rd. is to be re-done, like Tiny Town, it is also supposed to have bike lanes.

That is fantastic! Maybe I can start commuting to work (Fort Campbell) when they finish the eastern half sometime in 2012!
Seriously, though. What a terrific effort and a feather in the community's cap. I realize I am new to this group, but am very excited by this news.
Any hope of passing some local legislation that requires all newly constructed roads of a certain size to have designated bicycle lanes? I am getting ready to move off Trenton and that road looks like a bike death trap during rush hour. Oh well, I'll drive to Tinseltown.
Thanks again for the effort and put out the word if you need additional voices for a little bicycle activism.

Winter Ride Schedule - (as long as we can stand the cold :-)
please note the time change
(Nov 7th will start from Deene's Club house -6pm)
Mt Bikes/ Hybrids are best for this as you can get in more work with
less speed (less wind chill!!) Lights - front and back are required
and we will need to stay together for safety reasons
Tuesday 6 PM Barksdale - riding to downtown
Thursday 6 PM Sam's Club Parking lot - riding in the
industrial park
Sunday 2pm Kirkwood
All rides depend on the weather - watch clarksvillecyclingclub.org
(discussion forum) for Saturday rides - I hope we can catch a nice
day and go mt biking at LBL!! Call me if you have questions 624-5417
Hey everyone. It's mountain biking season. It's time to hit the
trails. So, get out your mountain bikes, lube the chain and check the
brakes. There are some great trails nearby. My favorite is the Canal
Loop at LBL. There's also Lock 4 in Gallatin and a trail at Montgomery
Bell State Park in White Bluff. I'm riding the Canal Loop pretty much
every weekend, mostly Saturdays mornings. But I'm going to ride it
tomorrow morning since I'm working today. I plan on leaving
Clarksville around 7:30am because I have to be at work at 1pm. If you
want to join me tomorrow, give me a call. My number is 216-9949.

Oct 26 (Thursday) 7pm we will have a club meeting at Kirkwood (please
watch email in case place changes - date and time will not)
We need to discuss and then vote on the "Ride for the Cure" - our
club's spring ride - becoming a Komen affiliate event. We also need
to get started on sponsors and probably make a few discussions
on "fall" riding schedule.
Scott needs to know by this weekend (Oct 22) if you want to help with
the "Race for the Cure" - Komen Breast Cancer Foundation fund raising
event - so we can let the folks know how many volunteers we will
have - I have included a note from Scott on a tentative schedule for
that day - please email him at nebraskafn@...
from Scott :
The schedule on that day (Nov 4th) would be a departure from the Exit
11 car pool lot at 3:30 am to arrive at Bicentennial Capital Mall Park
by 4:30 am to help with set-up and same day registration beginning at
approx 6:00 am and the Race at 8:45 am (Cristen, me, and my girls will
be participating) . . . . Tear down and clean up at approximately 11:00
am . . . so back to Clarksville around 2:00 pm (if all cannot stay
through tear down and clean up – it is OK . . . I had told them we
would help with set-up and registration) . . . I think it is important
to get a good turn out form the Club so we can have the same from
Nashvillian Komen folks for our Ride.
I too, had a great time with all the club members. I agree with Scott,
thanks to Debbie and Joe for the arrangements and the encouragement.
Hope to continue the ride yearly. Scott thanks for the pics, if I had
seen yours first I would have saved the money on the other group pic.
