This is probably another feel good law that the state lawmakers can say that they've done something for the good of cycling to help protect us, but the sad truth is that a lot of the motoring public simply doesn't care about us, we're in they're way and shouldn't be on the road in the first place. Of course we know we have as much right to be there as a motor vehicle does, but legal right is not going to help me in a collision with a 5000 lb. vehicle traveling at considerable velocity. I, as many of you have had cars pass me so close that if they had they're window down I could have spit on them, Not to mention the occasional finger or something thrown at me.
My point is, we have to be very careful about how we ride and do not put ourselfs in compromising positions if it can be help it, ike on a motorcycle, pretend youre invisible because we are to some folks. Lets be safe.
