Do you collect them?

I've just put 141 of them up in a gallery on www.uptheclarets.com

I'm trying to collect an archive of them!

See the links on our front page... Also updates on Parkin & Lunt

Hey guys,

Just wondering if you could check out the Clarets.net and if you
haven't , vote in the PotS poll. Currently it's a dead-heat between
Cahill and McGreal!

Thanks.

Subject: [clarets] Trust Survey Update

Thanks very much to those of you who are not Clarets Trust members who
replied to our one question survey last week but could I please ask those
who didn’t if they would consider spending just a few seconds in replying to
us, it would be so helpful for the Trust and our support of the Club.

The question is: Having not joined Clarets Trust would you please choose one
of the options below that best describes why not.

1. Have not heard of it
2. Have heard of it but not sure what it is
3. Have heard of it but not got round to joining yet
4. Have heard of it and think I know what it is about but don't agree with
it
5. Cannot afford it
6. Don't think it will make a difference
7. Other (please specify)

Could you please email your answer to info@...

To date most of the replies have suggested 3 and 5.

3. If you do wish to join, membership forms can be downloaded from the Trust
website at www.claretstrust.co.uk <http://www.claretstrust.co.uk/> and are
also available at the Burnley Express and at the club’s ticket office – you
will also be able to join at the meeting directly after the Leeds game in
the Foundation Bar. The meeting will start around 2:30 and both members and
non-members will be very welcome.

5. Membership costs £10 adults, £7.50 over 60s and £5 under 16s.

Again thanks very much for your time

Speak up, Clarets - you will be heard!

You are a Claret. Only a supporter, you might say. You pay your money every
week and give your support but what do you get in return? Should you expect
anything except a game of football? Do you feel the club should be more
accountable to its supporters? Does a particular issue make you angry?

Well now is your chance to have a say and make your voice heard as the
Clarets Trust will be holding an Open Meeting in the Foundation bar on
Saturday 5th February after the home game against Leeds United.

The bar will be open and the meeting is open to non-members as well as
members. It will give supporters the chance to put forward their views on
the football club and help to decide Trust policy on issues as varied as
ticket refunds, season tickets and the recent ground sale and leaseback for
example.

The Trust steering group will give an update on progress so far and put
forward plans for the coming year. How are we going to raise money and what
are we going to do with it? Will we invest in the youth scheme? Will we try
to buy the ground back? As a truly democratic organisation, the membership
will decide.

Supporters' Trusts up and down the country are making a difference to their
clubs. Exeter City is run by their supporters' trust and they held the
corporate might of Manchester United to a draw. Yet strangely enough,
Shareholders United, the Manchester United Trust could eventually end up
running their club as they already have approaching 20% of the shareholding.

So come along and have your say and if enough people feel the same way then
by joining together perhaps Burnley supporters can make a difference at our
club. The chairman, board and playing staff at Burnley are doing their very
best for the club so isn't it time the supporters made a more positive
contribution?

TON UP FOR CLARETS TRUST

The Clarets Trust is delighted to announce it has passed the first milestone
of its fledging life.

Launched on the 11 September with a series of high profile events following
the match against Crewe, the Trust is celebrating having already signed up
over 100 members.

Tony Scholes, Trust Chair, adds, “To reach 100 members of the Trust so soon
after launching is a great achievement so thanks to those fans who have
supported us so far. We know it’s going to be a long slog as other clubs
have found that many fans only sign up for Trusts when faced by an emergency
situation.

“Thankfully we aren’t in that situation here but we want to remind fans that
it’s in their interests to help keep the Club safe and ultimately help the
team on the pitch by supporting us. We have received many messages of
support from fans all over the world as well as ex-players, which shows that
you don’t have to live locally to support us. Indeed the latest exiled fan
to offer us support is John Kettley.

Well known Burnley fan, weatherman John Kettley, says, “This is a great
initiative from Burnley fans to help protect the future of the Club. I am
always proud to say that I’m a Burnley fan and although the team is not in
the great position it was when I was younger, we all want to see the Club
get as much success as it possibly can.

“One way of achieving this is for fans to join the Trust and support their
fellow fans through this group. The Trust committee seem to have the best
interests of the Club at heart and we have all seen the good work Trusts
have done at other Clubs in the country so lets hope this one can be just as
successful for the team and the town.”

The Trust aims to give Burnley fans a greater say in the future running of
Burnley FC and ultimately hopes to buy shares in the Club. Membership of
the Trust for one year costs £10 for full membership with discounts
available.

For more information about the Trust, its aims or a membership form please

Thanks to any of you who might have been involved in the bidding for the
5-a-side places, it now looks as though it is going to raise in excess of £500
for the trust, the shirts have been given free by TFG and so there are no costs
to come out of that.

Membership details for the trust for 2004/05 are £10 adults, £7.50 over 60s, £5
under 16s. Membership form can be downloaded from the Clarets Trust web site at
www.claretstrust.co.uk (see latest on right hand side). The return address is in
the top section.

Should anyone require tickets for the launch evening next week (£3 each) please
contact the trust at info@...

Or alternatively, you could write for the non-online fanzine When The Ball
Moves, which has been going for 4.5 years now :-) Better still, you could
write for both! Let me know if anyone fancies it. I also have a
questionnaire for your attention soon, if you don't mind filling it in (10

Cheers!

Hi guys,

I'm hoping to launch a new online fanzine this weekend, and I was
wondering if anyone would be interested in writing articles for the
site every week/fortnight/whenever you can? Of course I'm looking
for good quality articles, not too short and not too long!

If anyone fancies it, please let me know. The fanzine will be online
every Saturday at www.clarets.net

The football leagues agents fees report for the first six months has
just been published and makes interesting reading - Burnley spent
12,000 on agents fees - not as good as Crewe who made 5 transfers
without paying a penny to agents but a lot better than the likes of
West Ham or Derby where agents pocketed over 1/4 million.

Hi all, a new BFC group has srung up. Not the usual chat and banter
type, but a 'think tank' for ideas to help BFC and promoting our club
in the east. It has nowt to do with me, it's run by Turftalker. I
think this is a brilliant idea.

The aim is just to help the club by pooling our knowledge and skills!
Check it out if you want to help at:

Sacking an old-school manager reknowned for keeping teams in the division on
a tight budget and replacing him with an old-school manager reknowned for
keeping teams in the division on a tight budget is almost as daft as sacking
a manager then allowing him a testimonial about 3 weeks after the new
manager starts.

I have excellent information this time that could very likely be Ronnie Moore.
this comes from an insider, on the R'Ham management team who says Ronnie was
told four months ago that the job was his if he wanted it. More recently, the
Burnley players gave Ronnie a vote of confidence. When have players ever been
asked anything though? Also that there were assurances given that there" is
money to be spent, only the person stated that the director in question didn't
want to give it to Stan to spend. Just how likely this money is to appear for a
new manger, Ronnie Moore or not is another question.

The way I heard it today, Stan is supposed to have had an argument a couple of
weeks ago with Dave Edmondson about the players meeting fans after the match
against Sunderland. Edmunson wanted the players to hang about for an hour or so
signing autographs and having their pictures taken. Stan the told him where to
go saying they were all going for a few beers. Edmundson allegedly said Stan
thought he was bigger than the club and complained to the Board. Again,

Not to get too technical but a controlling interest is taken to mean over 30% by
the City
Code on takeovers and Mergers so even if BK hasnt got 50% his stake is probably
enough to qualify by this measure

I'm not sure how this works but I'd always assumed that BK had a controlling
interest, which I understood to mean over 50% of the voting shares. This would
mean that the Board could not, for example replace BK and by the same token
could not vote him down on anything else.. Therefore Stan would have been safe
unless BK decided, against his own judgement, to defer to the majority feeling.
If the Chairman does not have overall control and is outvoted on a crucial
