Speak up, Clarets - you will be heard!

You are a Claret. Only a supporter, you might say. You pay your money every
week and give your support but what do you get in return? Should you expect
anything except a game of football? Do you feel the club should be more
accountable to its supporters? Does a particular issue make you angry?

Well now is your chance to have a say and make your voice heard as the
Clarets Trust will be holding an Open Meeting in the Foundation bar on
Saturday 5th February after the home game against Leeds United.

The bar will be open and the meeting is open to non-members as well as
members. It will give supporters the chance to put forward their views on
the football club and help to decide Trust policy on issues as varied as
ticket refunds, season tickets and the recent ground sale and leaseback for
example.

The Trust steering group will give an update on progress so far and put
forward plans for the coming year. How are we going to raise money and what
are we going to do with it? Will we invest in the youth scheme? Will we try
to buy the ground back? As a truly democratic organisation, the membership
will decide.

Supporters' Trusts up and down the country are making a difference to their
clubs. Exeter City is run by their supporters' trust and they held the
corporate might of Manchester United to a draw. Yet strangely enough,
Shareholders United, the Manchester United Trust could eventually end up
running their club as they already have approaching 20% of the shareholding.

So come along and have your say and if enough people feel the same way then
by joining together perhaps Burnley supporters can make a difference at our
club. The chairman, board and playing staff at Burnley are doing their very
best for the club so isn't it time the supporters made a more positive
contribution?
