I'm not sure how this works but I'd always assumed that BK had a controlling
interest, which I understood to mean over 50% of the voting shares. This would
mean that the Board could not, for example replace BK and by the same token
could not vote him down on anything else.. Therefore Stan would have been safe
unless BK decided, against his own judgement, to defer to the majority feeling.
If the Chairman does not have overall control and is outvoted on a crucial
matter I would have thought his position was untenable and he would have to give
up the job of Chairman, a bit like losing a vote of no confidence

Obviously there's something wrong with my understanding here but knowing this
group I may not have to wait too long before somebody puts me right!

The way I heard it today, Stan is supposed to have had an argument a couple of
weeks ago with Dave Edmondson about the players meeting fans after the match
against Sunderland. Edmunson wanted the players to hang about for an hour or so
signing autographs and having their pictures taken. Stan the told him where to
go saying they were all going for a few beers. Edmundson allegedly said Stan
thought he was bigger than the club and complained to the Board. Again,
allegedly, at the board meeting when it was decided not to renew Stan's
contract, the only member to vote in Stan's favour was Barry Kilby who then had
the job of informing him.This could of course be the usual bullshit but it did
come from a member of staff. If this is true and they haven't got anyone lined
up for the job and there is no cash in the kitty, it looks to me like they may
well have bought their ticket for division two.

Mark Hughes would be one of the few managers that would placate many of the
fans who can't see life beyond Stan. He is however unproven at club level
but still has the kudos to attract quality players and with a bit of luck
may have scouted some east europeans whilst working for Wales!

After the send off Stan got on Sunday I'm sure that BK is sweating over this
decision. Remember Stan was Teasdales appointment and BK hasn't gone
through this process before. I hope he isn't taken in by bravado and
bluster.

With regard to my own choice I just don't know. There doesn't seem to be an
outstanding candidate but whoever it is has a hard act to follow and BK will
have to do the hard sell!
