I have seen the Clarets new striker recently and he is Anthony
Elding of Stevenage Borough. I went to watch Stevenage play
Stanley recently and Elding scored twice, hit the bar, had one
cleared of the line and another disallowed in the first half.

He scored two more on Saturday. This was my first Conference
game and the standard is pretty good easily as good as Div 3
possibly as good as lower Div 2. The ease with which Yeovil and Donny
have settled in indicate the relatively high standard of
Conference football particularly the fully professional sides.

Anyway I have written to Stan and told him to send his scouts
out to have a look a Elding and he can get a reference
from Flynn on Saturday when Stevenage visit Swansea.
Elding is big strong, quick, good in the air, has a shot like
a rifle and peels off his marker brilliantly. He's also a big headed
c**t, and very trappy, but hey, you need slef belief in this game.

The only problem is that Stevenage are owned by Graham Westley (?)
and he is the rich guy who took Farnborough to play Arsenal
in the FAC last season. Probably S Bor. would want a fee.

If you get a chance, say you live in Telford or any of the
other Towns that host Conference football, like Gravesend
or maybe Northfleet, treat yourself if Stevenage are in town.

Igor
