Payts, Moore & Summer Transfers   Message List

I heard some rather disturbing news about Ian Moore yesterday, a guy that my
mate works with was out with Ian Moore on Sunday night after the B*st*rds
game, and Moore was telling him that he regretted signing for us and that it
was a big mistake!!!

Other people may not find this quite as disturbing, but if our million pound
man doesn't really want to be here, then surely he isn't going to give 100%
in the games we have left. If this really is the case then although I don't
like Taylor, I would partner him upfront with Payts.

Although I also heard that Payts has been in trouble with the law again and
that he has been going into training pissed. He also APPARENTLY hit Ian
Moore. Now although I doubt that Payts did hit him, it could be one of the
causes for IM to regret his big money move to Burnley.

Anyway, away from the rumours....

At the moment we only have a squad of 27 players, and with Johnrose and
Jepson out till the end of the season, that only leaves 25. And then of
course you have Scott, Williamson, Devenney, Kevan, Boardman & Shandran, who
Stan seems determined not to play. This now only leaves us with a squad of
18 players. Any other team seems to have a squad of about 30 or 35 players.
I think that before we let anybody go this year, we need to be bringing in
about 9 or 10 players of our own.

At the moment I have four players on my hit list:

Eddie Howe - Central Defender (already has a proven record with Cox and
could replace the not so big bad Mitch)

Jason Koumas - Midfielder (Has proved this season that he can score goals at
this level, played 28 scored 9 - not bad for a midfielder, would probably
work well with Mullin and Ball as they would add pace and strength to his
goals, may want to move if Tranmere are relegated)

Dele Adebola - Striker (Stans main target this season anyway, becomes free
in the summer, has plenty of 'presence', would work well with Moore, we
would then have height and pace upfront, could replace Payts)

Chris Armstrong - Defender (Although still very much an unknown quantity, he
is playing brilliantly at Bury by all accounts, and is also scoring the odd
goal here and there, he would probably work well under his brothers guidance
until he found his feet at the club)

However, if I were going to sell anyone, these would be my choices:

Payts - not scoring enough goals and he isn't getting any younger (before
anyone complains, I KNOW he is our leading scorer this season!!)

Cook - Too slow in midfield and always looks like he doesn't want the ball
when he gets it!!

'The Rocket' - TOO OLD

Dean West - It's unfair to keep him, he ain't played a first team game so
far this year, the closest he has been is the bench against Stockport away.

Anyway, now I have said my piece and given you all a novel to read, I will
sign off.

We'd never get Koumas - he'll go to either promotion candidates or a Prem team. He's been watched at every Tranmere cup game by Prem scouts and has played well...

I'm getting a bit fucking sick - and I don't usually swear - about these so-called rumours. Firstly, I (note: not a "guy that my mate works with") spoke to...

By the way Simon Evans - who has recently started posting to the group - is no less than the BBC/ Reuters correspondent for Italy. Seems the journalist count...
