Hey, <br>TKD depends all upon your federation and
style. I belong to WTF(World Training Federation) There
is also ITF. In TKD you start at 10 kup and work
down to 1. (1=red belt) You have to learn forms, one
step sparring, combinations, techniques and any other
info required by your sabum-nim. Before getting
started you should learn what each command means and

ahop,yol,=1-10/ <br> TKD originated from Korea. TKD dates back to
2000 years ago. These froms they practiced were etched
into the walls and are in use today.TKD was handed
down traditionally from generation to generation. At
one point this art was outlawed by invaders. The art
was practiced secretly and in the 50's came back.
Korea then gave it to the world, sending out TKD
masters to other countries. America recieved Jhoon Rhee,
whom firt taught the U.S. military. TKD is extremly
popular and worthwhile. There are 10 degrees possible out
of TKD. This is the equivalent of a great grand
master. Karate and many other arts practice point
fighting which I have nothing against but I feel TKD's
full contact system is more practical. If you get beat
up or so the first time don't worry about it. That
is something we all go through. It can take a while
to develop a feeling for this art, but just remember
that every single martial artist has had negative
feelings toward their need in martial arts but those who
go on succeed. When I was an under belt I always
wanted to drop out b/c it was so hard. Later on I
developed my skill and loved the sport. Now I wish I could
go back to the old days when I got beat up all the
time.
