First off, this is the worst PPV card I've ever seen. This is even
worse than the Badd Blood card. I have trouble believing that anyone
is going to order this show, it's that bad. Let me get started.
World Championship Match: Triple H (c) vs Goldberg
Out of all the contenders for the Raw championship, Goldberg is the
guy I'd least like to see win it. I'd rather see Kane, Chris
Jericho, Rob Van Dam, Shawn Michaels, and even Scott Steiner go over
Triple H instead of Goldberg. Why? Because I don't think Goldberg is
going to still be around this time next year. I'm not even convinced
he's going to be around much longer than Wrestlemania. At this point
in the title reign, I'd rather just see Triple H retain. This may
sound crazy, but if Triple H wins than we don't have to worry about
Goldberg fucking up anymore. Also, it means that Triple H will
eventually have to lose to someone better or continue having a title
reign that will look good in the history books. On a side note,
Triple H has sucked the past few months and has had horrible feuds
all along. It's just that at this point they might as well follow
through with it. Why should Goldberg succeed where RVD, Kane,
Jericho, Steiner, Booker T, Bubba Ray Dudley, and Kevin Nash have
failed?
Predicted Winner: Goldberg
Desired Winner: Triple H
On another side note, I couldn't help but find myself cheering Kevin
Nash on at Badd Blood. I think i was just depressed that evening.
Shawn Michaels vs Randy Orton
Is it just me, or did they stop hyping this match at Summerslam?
These two haven't built up any heat since then. All I can say is
that Randy Orton shouldn't win at this point. HBK needs this win to
remain looking strong, and losing to HBK will not hurt Orton's push
one bit.
Predicted Winner: Shawn Michaels
Desired Winner: Shawn Michaels
Tables Match: The Dudley Boyz and Spike vs La Resistance and Rob
Conway
I must include this: I am a Rob Conway mark. The guy impressed me in
his Velocity appearances and he's been utilized well since his
debut. I'm pushing for the Dudleyz to get a quick win and then beat
La Resistance for the titles on the next Raw due to Grenier's injury.
Predicted Winners: The Dudley Boyz
Desired Winners: The Dudley Boyz
Lita and Trish Stratus vs Molly Holly and Gail Kim
Once again, I have to admit that I'm a Lita mark. I'm also a Molly
Holly mark, making this one of the better matches of the night in my
eyes. The match also has Gail Kim, who has been a huge
dissapointment and Trish Status who will probably find herself in
Lita's shadow before long. I expect Lita to go over Molly in this
match, setting up a future Molly vs Lita title match. Good stuff
here.
Predicted Winners: Lita and Trish Stratus
Desired Winners: Lita and Trish Status
Test vs Scott Steiner
This wasn't a bad match the first couple times. This time Steiner's
services are on the line, as are Stacey's. So in other words, if
Test wins than he gets to have sex with Scott Steiner. Hmm...
interesting angle, I think Test could really use this victory. Rumor
has it that Stacey is going to turn on Steiner. I really hope not
because that makes no sense and would have fit in better on an
average episode of Monday Nitro.
Predicted Winner: Test
Desired Winner: Test
IC Championship Match: Christian (c) vs Chris Jericho vs Rob Van Dam
This is a hard one to call. I'm going to say that Jericho won't win
because now that Goldberg will most likely be champion, he's going
to need some strong heel opponents. I'd like to see Christian retain
on this evening, mostly because I like him. Rob Van Dam's chances
aren't very good seeing as he's been in some hot water lately
(between his radio interviews and no-showing Triple H's bachelor
party). What I want you all to do is go watch last year's Unforgiven
PPV and watch as Triple H destroys RVD's momentum once and for all.
Predicted Winner: Christian
Desired Winner: Christian
Last Man Standing: Kane vs Shane McMahon
This has been one of the most bizarre feuds as of late. Fortunately,
they left HLA, necrophelia, cheating spouses, and accusations of
murder out of this one. Unfortunately, they included three out of
four McMahons, Eric Bischoff trying to rape Linda, and Kane
attempting to fry Shane's testicles. I can't say this is the worst
feud I've ever seen, as it has had a positive effect on ratings. In
that case, I have no problems here (though Shane stole this feud
away from RVD). I see Kane winning and going on to face Goldberg.
Predicted Winner: Kane
Desired Winner: Kane
Jim Ross and Jerry "The King" Lawler vs The Coach and Al Snow
Hmmm... this could be interesting. It's good to see Al Snow on PPV
again (the last time he had a PPV match was Backlash 2002). I also
never imagined that Jonothan Coachman would ever have a PPV match
(or any match for that matter). I would have preferred this just be
between Lawler and Snow, but this could be an entertaining (and
hopefully quick) segment. Shane vs Bischoff at Summerslam suffered
only because it was given way too much time. Since I'm sick of
Lawler's commentating skills and J.R. has lost about all credibility
with me, I'm going to cheer on Coach and Al Snow. I expect even if
they win, Austin will find some way to get J.R. and Lawler back on
Raw though, so this match is pretty much pointless in that matter.
Predicted Winners: J.R. and Jerry Lawler
Desired Winners: Coach and Al Snow
So that's the entire card. Second Raw ppv and Lance Storm still
isn't good enough. That makes me so sad. I rented WCW New Blood
Rising this week and Lance Storm got the hottest reaction of the
night on the show. He arrived in a limo and was treated like a real
superstar. He wrestled a hard fought match against Mike Awesome and
after pinning him, Bret Hart came down and celebrated with Storm. I
want someone to show Vince McMahon a copy of that show and let him
know the potential that Storm is capable of. Vince probably wouldn't
pay attention anyway, seeing as he considers his worst idea to be
better than WCW's best idea.
If you pay 35 bucks for Unforgiven, then you are stupid.
