The past couple of weeks in wrestling have taught me something. Jim
Ross and Jerry Lawler have lost it. They are no longer the best
announcing team in the business, in fact I don't even think they are
second best. The current best announcing team is by far Michael Cole
and Tazz. They actually call the matches, are sincere, and do a much
better job of keeping the home audience interested. The second best
announce team in the business? Probably Mike Tenay and Don West.
Why? Because THEY DON'T PISS ME OFF ON A WEEK TO WEEK BASIS LIKE JIM
ROSS AND JERRY LAWLER DOES!
Jim Ross contradicts himself all the time! When Steve Austin attacks
Mae Young, he thinks it's funny. When Test attacks Mae Young, Jim
Ross verbally rips Test apart for weeks! Jim Ross praises Austin
like a God, even after Austin destroyed Ross during his heel turn in
2001 and even after J.R. spent nine months burying Austin on TV for
walking out on the WWE.
Meanwhile, Lawler has nothing funny left in him. He makes horrible
jokes and his perverted old man persona is completely old. In fact,
I remember thinking he was annoying three years ago and I didn't
completely miss him when Paul Heyman took over for him. Go watch
Survivor Series 2001 and listen to Paul Heyman's commentary, it's
FUCKING HILARIOUS!
This just might coincide with the fact that Raw might have pissed me
off for the last time. I don't even remember that wrestling is on
monday night's anymore. Unforgiven is going to suck.
