I got this article from 1wrestling.com. It shows how much Vince is a
bastard nowadays.
As we reported over the weekend, during a house show match
between
Rhyno and Tajiriat the Smackdown brand house show in Uniondale,
New York on
Sunday, Vince
McMahonexhibited some strange behavior and it's been the talk of both
locker
rooms ever since. During the match, where Tajiri was wrestling Rhyno,
Vince came out
to the
ring and told theref to ring the bell and end the match, saying that
it was boring
and he
wanted to start thebikini contest, which was scheduled to come up
next. Up until
that point,
the two men wereworking a headlock spot and our reports of the match
was that it was
indeed boring and hadfollowed a bad tag title bout where Charlie Haas
& Shelton
Benjamin
retained their titlesagainst The APA (which the reports said the APA
just couldn't
keep up with
the champs). Vince was reportedly watching the matches in the back on
a monitor and
appeared to getagitated at the match quality and suddenly went out to
ringside and
called
for the end of thebout. It has been the hot topic of the wrestlers
ever since.
There are
varying opinions as towhy Vince did it, with some people thinking
that Rhyno and/or
Tajiri were
in on it. From allthe reports I have received, that isn't true.
Some people felt
Vince may
have been playing arib or putting over his heel character, but that
doesn't appear
to be the
case either. It lookslike he just got ticked at the match(es) and
went and did
something about it.
There is a lot of amazement among the wrestlers to Vince's
behavior.
For months now, management has been telling the wrestlers to slow
down their
matches and
work holds. Theyhave been told that if the crowd doesn't react, keep
working the hold
until you can get themto do so. Basically, Rhyno and Tajiri were
doing what they
have been told
to do. Then, theowner of the company went out to ringside and
embarrassed them in
front of
the crowd. Italked to a number of wrestlers who don't know how to
take what Vince did
but did think itwas incredibly disrespectful to Rhyno and Tajiri.
The popular
opinion is
that if Vince wantedto end the match, he could have told the ref to
take it home and
he didn't
have to make assesout of Tajiri and Rhyno. Obviously, in the current
situation,
where WWE
is the only game intown, there isn't much that the talent can do
about it but the
incident
certainly did lay a hiton the goodwill that Vince had with at least
some of the
wrestlers.
