From Lords of Pain.net:
Corey Hamilton sent in the following:
I just got back from the house show and let me first say that it was
great. The fans were in to all of the matches and standing for the
big parts. I took 27 pictures on a camera and got autographs from
Randy Orton, La Resistance, Mark Jindrak, Booker T, Rob Van Dam.
Match 1: Steven Richards vs. Hurricane
Good opening match with quite a bit of good action. At the start of
the match Richards flung Hurricane over the top rope close to the
turnbuckle and Hurricane literally smashed his face off the post.
Steven hit the Stevie kick a little later on just to have Hurricane
kick out. Then Hurricane hit the Shining Wizard for the 3 count.
Match 2: Randy Orton vs. Val Venis
Orton came out to a pretty nice pop. This guy is ripped, on TV he
looks big but live he is huge. Val Venis then came out to a bigger
pop. For the first 5 minutes of the match it was all sleepers and
chin locks by Orton. They eventually got out of this and started
wrestling which turned out to be one of the best matches.Near the
end something weird happened, Orton was pounding Venis and the time
limit was close to the end. Fink started counting from 10 to 5
really quick then when he hit 5 he relized he was counting too fast
and counted real slow. Orton hit a DDT, went for the pin and it was
to late, the ref had no time to count and the match was ruled a
draw. Everyone looked pretty confused including Finkel at ringside.
Match 3: Tommy Dreamer vs. Rosey with Hardcore Rules
The crowd loved Tommy Dreamer. Nothing happened for a while until
Tommy got the ring bell and placed it right on Rosey's nuts. He then
took a wrench and hammered the bell down into his nuts. Soon after
this Mark Jindrak came out to interfere and beat on Tommy for a
while. Dreamer got rid of Jindrak and then hit the Dreamer DDT on to
a chair for the 3 count.
Match 4: Gail Kim vs. Ivory vs. Victoria for the Women's Title
Victoria is really hot in person. I had to say that. Gail Kim can
really wrestle. She was jumpin on the ropes and off the turnbuckle
and even over the ropes to the outside. It ended with Gail Kim
hitting a Hurricarana off the top on Victoria. After the match Ivory
came in and raised the hand of the victor in typical face fasion.
Match 5: Test vs. Rob Van Dam
I thought this match would be the main event of the card. Good
action here and I took lots of pictures. RVD did some of his main
moves which weren't performed the last time he was here. Rolling
Thunder was cool to see live. Test went to get a chair at the end
only to have RVD hit the Van Daminator followed by the 5 Star Frog
Splash for the 3 count. After the match Kane came out and
chokeslammed the ref. He then went on to chokeslam Val Venis,
Hurricane and finally Rob. It was funny that the crowd didn't know
if they should boo or cheer. I think a Kane hell turn is coming.
Next came a 15 minute intermission where fink informed us about all
of the merchandise.
Match 6: Booker T vs. Christian for the IC Title
Good opener after the intermission to get the crowd into it. Booker
starts off by dominating the first few minutes. They fight out into
the crowd and then get back into the ring with Christian taking the
advantage. Match slowed down from here until Booker gets back into
it. He hits a couple of his trademark kicks followed up by a
SPINAROONIE that I got a nice picture of. Booker then attempts the
axe kick but misses and Christian rolls him up and uses the ropes
for the 3. After the match Booker stays out for a minute saluting
the fans before leaving to the back.
Match 7: Rico w/ Jackie vs. Maven
Jackie is really hot. This match was kind of a waste of time but was
the funniest match of the night. Rico kept humping Maven and sitting
on his face like he was gay. The funniest part was when Rico had
Maven's arm in between his legs and was tryin to pin him. He kept
lifting Maven's hand up into his balls so it looked like Maven was
playing with Rico's balls. He must have done that about 10 times in
a row before Maven finally got up. The end came when Rico ran into
Jackie and then turned around into an off the top rope face slam
type move for the 3.
Match 8: La Resistance vs. The Dudley Boyz for the Tag Titles
I thought all along that it was to be Bubba and D'Von but Spike came
to team with Bubba instead. This was a good main event match with
lots of action in it. La Resistance actually got a pretty good cheer
because surprisingly it wasn't just me, my brother, and our friends
who knew Rene Dupree was from Moncton. Even a couple Moncton chants
started. Rene is a great wrestler. When he is on the apron and
Grenier gets hit he acts like he feels his pain. During the match he
did a little strut across the ring apron and then turned to the
crowd and we all gave thumbs up so he nodded at us. Ref was outside
the ring and Sylvain came in and hit Bubba with the belt. After that
they hit their finisher on Spike for the win. After the match they
went to put Spike through a table but Tommy Dreamer came in with a
trash can. They put Sylvain up on Bubba's Shoulders and he got
powerbombed through a table. Bubba, Spike and Tommy stayed out for
10 more minutes playin the crowd and that was the end of the show.
Overall this might have been the best event I have been to. It was
awesome. After the event we were talking to La Resistance who are
really nice guys and I got RVD to sign my poster.
