I just read a harsh review for last night's show, but the reviewer
was completely ignorant and obviously had only seen the show a few
times in the past (she didn't even know who Paul London or The
Sandman were).
I haven't gotten to watch the last half hour yet, I fell asleep
before it was over (I ordered it at 10 pm because I had to work
earlier). From what I did see, I was happy with the show. I was
thrilled to see Perry Saturn in action again after so long (though
he's been in better shape, he's still a great worker). His opponent
looked good too. Chris Sabin vs Paul London did not disapoint, and I
enjoyed Triple X vs America's Most Wanted as well. I enjoyed the
Justin Credible/Jerry Lynn match while it lasted, wish it had run
longer. The Hard 10 Match was crap, New Jack's ring skills are
worthless and Mike Sanders seemed out of his element.
I could have lived without the long Vince Russo promo, it ran too
long and felt too much like the WWE.
As for the flashback highlight clips, I think they chose many of the
wrong moments to showcase. It felt a little weird seeing the Roddy
Piper clip, seeing as he's on Smackdown now. The Dusty Rhode
segments were horrible, but it was good for them to include Raven
and D'Lo Brown debuting. The AJ Styles X Division Title win was
probably one of the better clips. The clips as a whole seemed to
admit that not a whole lot has happened in one year, all
these "shocking" moments didn't really add up to much (not really
their fault, seeing as they don't have much talent that stays on
permenantly).
That's it for now, I'm going to rewatch the show later tonight and
add some more thoughts.
