I got my wrestling tapes in the mail finally and I thought I might
do a little description of ROH. First off, it is not super high quality
cameras ROH uses, I even tend to think they are just
camcorders, but the angles are sufficient that you get to see the
action. This particular date was a tournament for the ROH title.
The ring was inside of what looked like a high school gym of
some sort, so going to the outside came with bumps to
basketball floor. Ouch. Action is what makes this GOOD! All
wrestlers have to shake hands before and after their matches, if
you don't, you have broken the code of honor and you get big
heat in the locker room. Especially from Low Ki!
Many wrestlers are featured who you hear about on the indy
shows like Christopher Daniels, the Briscoes, the American
Dragon, Spanky (Chris Kendrick) etc.The wrestling is great with
a few exceptions like Prince Nana who just seems to smash you
in the corner with his ass in your face. Although it's not as nasty
as Rikishi's crack surrounding your nose and mouth. And I have
to say I'm very much against the Backseat Boys. They make Billy
and Chuck look like macho men. They started french kissing in
the ring, which at that moment I was happy that the quality of the
video hid tongue. I don't hate gay people, nor do I think they are
not allowed to live their own lifestyle, but come on, do it in private,
don't do it on wrestling for God's sake.
I know I'm far behind in terms of where ROH is currently, but by
just viewing one show, ROH would definitely be competition for
WWE and TNA. Although TNA uses ROH workers, so I figure they
would work together to put together some program that they both
get exposure. Ring of Honor is REALLY worth checking out.
I think the only way to get ROH videos IS through RF Video. I
waited longer than their said delivery time, so I'm pissed with
that and that the fact that my tape was cracked and broken in
some places. Luckily for me I know how to fix stuff like that, but
for the people who don't, they're SOL. I don't think it's a gamble
because you get what you order, but dealing with delivery is a
pain in the ass.
