<sniff, sniff>
Shawn Stasiak (along with Mike Awesome) has been released from the
WWE. I'm upset to hear about this, because I have always considered
Stasiak to have wonderful potential (he is FAR better than Randy
Orton) and I did see him live (and enjoyed his match, with Johnny
Stamboli) and I honestly can say that I've become a Shawn Stasiak
fan. I'm sorry to see him go, but on the other hand this may turn
out to be a good thing for him in the long run. If he heads to Japan
or to a smaller company, he'll be given better chances to learn and
to develop his in-ring persona. He was more or less the WWE's new
Gangrel, meaning that he lost every match. He was the Raw jobber, so
if he stays away for a while, maybe when he comes back someday he
will come back as a powerful player and will get the push that he
had been getting in the old WCW.
As for Mike Awesome, he is a good worker. I enjoyed a lot of his WCW
work and I was disapointed on the treatment he recieved during the
Invasion angle last year. He was put back on TV too soon after his
recovery from surgery, so naturally his last matches on TV were
horrible. He could hardly even lift Tajiri up.
So to sum things up, I'm expecting that we haven't heard the last of
Planet Stasiak and Mike Awesome. They will return, and they will
return better than ever.
