Randy Orton is one of several new WWE superstars who were recently
called up to the main roster, put over by an already established
heel, hyped as the future, and then put on Velocity or Heat and
became Brock Lesnar fodder. Randy Orton, John Cena, and Shannon Moore
are examples. The fans have no reason to like Randy Orton except that
he's supposedly likable, and I really think Orton, Cena, and Moore
should just make up one big stable because they have no gimmicks
excpet that they are young and inexperienced so its supposed to be a
big deal to watch them hold their own with superstars like Chris
Jericho and Hardcore Holly. John Cena is the one who really should be
pushed, he already has a PPV win over Jericho and he's the most over
(though Shannon Moore is more impressive).
I'd also like to mention that Chris Nowinski, Jamie Noble, and Brock
Lesnar have all succeeded in their heel roles. That's because they
have good gimmicks. The face call-ups don't have gimmicks! I'd also
mention the suckiness that is Deacon Bautista. He really deserved a
better debut than Reverend D-von's fucking butler.
