NWA-TNA WEEK THREE PAY-PER-VIEW REPORT - Wednesday, July 3, 2002
Report by: Michael Van Der Harst (TREEMJ@...)
Please credit Michael Van Der Harst and knowyournews.com if using
this report.

Welcome to week three of the NWA-TNA! The show begins with the same
intro as last week, followed by some opening pyro. The president of
the NWA, Jim Miller, came down to ringside to present Mike Tenay
with a trophy. The trophy officially welcomes TNA into the NWA
family. Miller said that he couldn't make it to the first two shows
because he was over in Japan. He also said that the winner of the
Ken Shamrock/Malice NWA-TNA title match will face Omori on next
week's show!

NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Match
MATCH #1: CHRIS HARRIS & JAMES STORM VS. THE JOHNSONS (W/MORTIMER
PLUMTREE)
Before the match starts, video clips are shown from last week on how
Harris & Storm defeated the Rainbow Express to get into this
tournament in the first place. Harris and one of the Johnson's (duh)
start the match off. The Johnson [to be referred to as "Johnson 1"]
got the early advantage by getting punched and kicked, but Harris
turned things around quickly with a Lou Thesz press and a bunch of
punches. Harris tagged in James Storm and hit a nice-looking
headscissors takedown. But Johnson 1 came back by hitting a
neckbreaker. He then tagged in the other Johnson [to be referred to
as "Johnson 2"]. Together, the Johnson's hit a double slam on Storm.
Johnson 2 picked up Storm high in the air and slammed him to the
mat. He then tagged Johnson 1. Both of them hit Storm with a
shoulderblock and Johnson 1 got a two-count after the move. Storm
continued to take a beating by being kicked and stomped on in the
corner of the ring. Both Johnson's proceeded to deliver a double !
back bodydrop to Storm. Johnson 1 slammed Storm again. He went to
the second rope, but was kicked while attempting a move. Storm
started to get back into the thick of things by hitting a reverse
atomic drop and a superkick. Storm then finally got the tag to Chris
Harris, who tried to beat up both of the Johnson's - to no avail.
Everyone started to fight with Harris taking on Johnson 1 in the
ring, and Storm taking on Johnson 2 outside the ring. Harris tried
to go for a bodypress on Johnson 1, but was caught in the ring.
Storm then got free from Johnson 2 and drop kicked his own partner
in the back! But, Harris fell on top of the Johnson and got the 1-2-
3 to advance to the finals in the NWA Tag Team Title Tournament!
(Sorry if there are any mis-conceptions describing the Johnson's!)
WINNERS: CHRIS HARRIS & JAMES STORM (ADVANCE)
Post-Match: The Johnson's manager Mortimer Plumtree started to yell
at his team for losing the match. But the Johnson's weren't going to
take any of Plumtree as they set him up in the chokeslam position!
But, they released him and instead just pushed him to the mat and
left the ring area. Plumtree started to chase after them yelling "We
can be Friends!"

Upcoming NWA events were scrolled on the bottom of the screen as the
TNA girls danced in their cages.

Scott Hall made his way to the ring for an interview. He got only a
few words in, when Jeff Jarrett came up onto the TNA stage. Jarrett
started to "diss" Hall, but Hall told Jarrett to "bring it." Jarrett
started to walk to the ring, but NWA President Jim Miller stopped
him. He told Jarrett that he can't just run the company and do
whatever he wants to do. Miller told Jarrett to wait for the main
event which is a tag team match with them Jarrett and Hall included.
Jarrett apparently agreed with the President and left. But then K-
Krush came through the crowd and started to attack Hall. Hall easily
fought back, as he went for the Razor's Edge but it was countered.
Hall hit a slam and a clothesline to get rid of K-Krush from the
ring. The announcers plugged tonight's main event, a tag team
showdown pitting Brian Christopher & Scott Hall against Jeff Jarrett
and K-Krush.

More upcoming NWA events were scrolled on the bottom of the screen
as the TNA girls continued to dance in their cages.

We now go backstage, and we see the winners of the first match Chris
Harris and James Storm down on the ground and bleeding.

MATCH #2: MONTY BROWN VS. ANTHONY INGRAM
Before the match, Monty said that he was the "Alpha Male" and that
he is here for one reason and that is Ken Shamrock. He is wearing
what Brown wants. Brown started the match by attacking Ingram with a
bunch of punches. He followed them up by a suplex. Brown tried to
whip Ingram into the corner, but it was reversed. Ingram tried to
splash Brown in the corner, but Brown caught him and hit a powerslam
on Ingram! Brown then Alpha Bombed Ingram to pick up the 1-2-3 and
the fast victory.
WINNER: MONTY BROWN

More upcoming NWA events were scrolled on the bottom of the screen
as the TNA girls continued to dance in their cages.

We go backstage to reporter Goldilocks. She was looking for NWA
President Jim Miller, while saying she could not find him. She said
that he had been in the ring five minutes ago, but she has already
searched the whole building twice. Puppet the Psycho Dwarf then
appeared demanding that management get him some competition.

NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Match
MATCH #3: THE RAINBOW EXPRESS (W/JOEL GERTNER) VS. APOLO & BUFF
BAGWELL
Goldilocks was backstage interviewing Buff Bagwell and Apolo before
the match started. Buff stated that Apolo was the second best
wrestler in the company, right behind Buff. Apolo seemed annoyed
that Bagwell didn't let Apolo speak very much. Lenny and Bruce were
already in the ring when Apolo and Bagwell made their way toward the
ring. Bruce started the match against Bagwell. Bagwell started
things off with a headlock, shoulderblock and hiptoss. He then posed
for pictures, but Bruce hit him from behind. Bagwell got back by
hitting an elbow and some other move I cannot name off of the second
rope. Alicia then came down to ringside, just as last week. Lenny
was tagged back in, but Buff took a page out of Flair's book and
poked his eye. Alicia went up to Ed Ferrara this time, as he handed
her some money just as ring announcer Jeremy Borash did last week.
But back in the ring, Apolo got tagged in and was dominating both
Lenny and Bruce. He hit a bunch of chops and also a fal! laway slam
on Lenny. Joel Gertner tried to trip Apolo as he went off of the
ropes. It worked, as it gave Bruce some time to hit a neckbreaker
and get a two-count from the referee. Bruce then started to beat up
Apolo in the corner, but Lenny came in and double-teamed Apolo.
Lenny went over on top of Apolo but once again got a two-count. He
hit a legdrop, but got yet another two-count. Apolo got back into
the match by hitting a full nelson bomb, as both men tagged their
partners. Bagwell dominated the Express. Bagwell then hit a weak
crossbody on Lenny as both of them went to the floor. In the ring,
Apolo nailed a superkick on Bruce then hit what looked like his
finisher. Apolo picked up Bruce into a fireman's carry position but
then nailed a modified stunner. Lenny broke up the pin, saving their
chances at the NWA tag titles. He then smacked Apolo over the top
rope. Bagwell got back in the ring and hit his finished, the
Blockbuster, on Bruce. But he stopped to pose once again! after he
hit it instead of going for the pin and win. Lenny took advantage
and nailed Buff with a superkick and pinned him for the 1-2-3.
WINNERS: THE RAINBOW EXPRESS

Apolo left, but Bagwell stayed in the ring. Ed Ferrara went to go
talk to him. He then said that he did not want to be called "Buff"
right now. He talked about his history in wrestling, and said that
he wants to be called by his realk name Marcus. He said he was done,
and he is going home. He left the ring as the fans sang that
good 'ol song, "Na Na Hey Hey Goodbye".

Next up, the NWA World Champion Ken Shamrock came to the ring. He
said he was confused as to why Monty Brown wants a title shot after
only one match, while he had to go through 19 other men to win the
belt. He said that Monty Brown may have a very short career in the
NWA-TNA. The fans did the Austin thing, but chanting "what" after
whatever Shamrock said. He talked about his upcoming matches, and
said that he would get rid of Monty once he was done. The lights
went out as Jim Mitchell appears and tells Shamrock he should fear
Malice and not Brown or Omori. The lights turn back on as we see
Shamrock lying motionless on the mat with Malice standing over him.

We go backstage to where Bill Behrens is on the phone, while Jerry
Lynn is trying to tell him that he can find a partner and take Storm
& Harris' place in the tag team tournament. Behrens gets mad as he
starts complaining about Shamrock, Storm and Harris all getting laid
out and that NWA president Jim Miller cannot be found!

Puppet comes out and demands someone to come out. Another midget
Todd Stone comes out and the match starts.

MATCH #4: PUPPET VS. TODD STONE
Puppet his Stone with a kendo stick as he came into the ring. He
then hit Stone with a trashcan followed by a clothesline and another
trashcan shot. Puppet then slammed Stone onto the trashcan. He
followed that by placing the trashcan on the head of Todd Stone and
then wacking it with the kendo stick. Puppet then hit a stunner on
the trash can to pick up the 1-2-3 and the win.
WINNER: PUPPET
Post-Match: Puppet hits the referee, Jeremy Borash, Don West, and
Stone again with the kendo stick. He then chased the referee to the
back.

More upcoming NWA events were scrolled on the bottom of the screen
as the TNA girls continued to dance in their cages.

We go backstage to get an update on Ken Shamrock with Goldilocks.
The EMT's say that they are not sure if Shamrock can defend his belt
tonight. Shamrock kept trying to get up and leave while the EMT's
attended to him.

We see clips from last week's Miss TNA Lingerie Battle Royal, which
leads to the next match between Taylor Vaughn (BB in WWE) and
Francine.

MATCH #5: FRANCINE VS. TAYLOR VAUGHN (MISS TNA)
As Vaughn got in the ring, Francine took a leather strap out of her
boot and started to whip and choke Taylor with it. Referee Scott
Armstrong grabbed it and took it away. But Taylor grabbed it from
the ref and proceeded to whip and chope Francine with it. The ref
tried to stop her, but Taylor hit him too. The referee then
disqualified Taylor Vaughn, giving the DQ victory to Francine.
WINNER: FRANCINE VIA DQ
Post-Match: Ed Ferrara got into the ring to help Francine, telling
her she is the winner. Francine then put Ferrara's hand on her
breast...and then slapped him for touching it! She then whipped him
with the leather strap. Ferrara is confused. But wait, is Francine
supposed to be here...she didn't win the "contract" last week. Oh,
well.

We now see Jeremy Borash interviewing NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler
(and his pit crew) in the ring. Sadler said he was glad to be a part
of the debut of the NWA-TNA. He talked about the NASCAR fans in
Nashville. But the interview was interrupted by K-Krush. Krush had
some NWA-TNA security behind him. Sadler took down Krush, as the two
were seperated. Krush said that he was in the main event tonight,
but he would take Sadler next week! Next week we'll see K-Krush vs.
NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler!

(WRITER'S NOTE: Its both hard and better doing reports without
commercials!)

NWA World Heavyweight Championship Match
MATCH #6: MALICE (W/ SINISTER JIM MITCHELL) VS. KEN SHAMROCK
(CHAMPION)
Shamrock came out, while the announcers said he could not have fully
recovered from Malice's attack earlier. Malice started to attack the
neck immediately. Malice then pulled the back of Shamrock's nexk on
the ring apron followed by a choke with his boot to the neck. Malie
then straddled Shamrock on the 2nd rope. He then hit a chinlock on
the champion. He followed that with a snapmare and a legdrop in the
ring but got only a two-count. Shamrock locked in an armbar
suprising me, but Malice quickly got out of it. Malice then
proceeded to toss Shamrock to the floor. Mitchell handed Malice a
chain, while he distracted the referee. Malice hit Shamrock with it
and then applied the Dragon Sleeper. submission. Malice then rolled
back into the ring to break the referee's 10-count. He then went
back out to get Shamrock and take him back into the ring. Malice
started to stomp on Shamrock, but then out of nowhere Shamrock
grabbed the ankle and locked in an ankle lock! Malice got to ! the
ropes pretty fast though. Malice then connected with back-to-back
back suplexes. He then went for a vertical suplex, but Shamrock
countered by connecting with a snap suplex. Shamrock ducked some of
Malice's kicks. He then hit a belly to belly suplex, and got the 1-2-
3 in a match dominated by Malice!
WINNER: KEN SHAMROCK (STILL NWA WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION)

NWA X-Divison Title Match
MATCH #7: DAVID YOUNG (W/BOBCAT) VS. AJ STYLES (CHAMPION)
The match starts with Styles hitting a dropkick. Young tried to go
for the full nelson slam, but Styles countered it into an armdrag.
He went for a second one and connected, but Young came back with a
shoulderblock. After a series of misses, Styles came back by hitting
a clothesline on the challenger. That all took place outside the
ring. Styles then rolled Young back in the ring, pinned him, and got
a two-count. Styles hit some punches, and went for a springboard off
of the rop rope. But, Young shoved Styles, and droped him neck first
into the top rope. He fell to the dloor. Young has the advantage by
hitting a moonsault on the dloor. He then put Styles back in the
ring. Young's valet, Bobcat, was talking on her cellphone paying no
attention to the match. Young tried to go for a German Suplex, but
Styles landed on his feet in a nice spot. Later, Young got a two-
count. Styles then fought back with a crucifix powerbomb and a roll-
up but only got a two-count. Styles missed! with an enziguri, but
Young hit one of his own by kicking off Styles. He got a two-count
on the pin attempt. Young then hit a powerslam and got another near
fall from the referee. He hit a brainbuster and once more got a near
fall. He went for a clothesline, but Styles ducked and hit a
superkick and a pin. But guess what? It was a two-count! Styles hit
a reverse DDT and got another two-count. A lot of near falls in this
match - which is a good thing! Styles continued his offensive edge
by hitting a backdrop and a lot of kicks. Young ducked one of the
kicks, but Styles continued to work, by hitting a knife-edge chop.
Young then hit a spinebuster and got a near fall. Bobcat was still
on the outside talking on the phone. Young went up top to try a
hurricanrana, but AJ hit his finished, the Styles Clash from the
second rope to pick up the 1-2-3 and retain his title.
WINNER: AJ STYLES (STILL X-DIVISION CHAMPION)

The announcers announce (oh my, how different!) that there will be a
six-man elimination match to determine a number one contender for
the X-Division title. The wrestlers are: Elix Skipper, Kid Romeo,
Low Ki, Jerry Lynn, Tony Mamaluke and Chris Daniels.

Goldilocks is backstage interviewing Joel Gertner and the Rainbow
Express. Joel started to flirt with Goldilocks during the interview.
He said that the Rainbow Express would have to be declared the
champions since their opponents, Harris and Storm cannot wrestler.
Joel kissed Goldy, as Lenny & Bruce said it was gross.

Ring announcer Jeremy Borash said there has to be a match and he
introduced the Express' opponents: AJ Styles and Jerry Lynn! Styles
is doing double-duty!

NWA Tag Team Championship Tournament Final Match
MATCH #8: AJ STYLES AND JERRY LYNN VS. THE RAINBOW EXPRESS (W/JOEL
GERTNER)
Lynn started the match off by dropkicking Lenny, while Bruce started
to wrestle with AJ Styles. Lynn backdropped Bruce out onto the
floor. He hit some move I don't remember on both members of the
Rainbow Express. Bruce then rammed Styles into the security rails.
Lynn and Lane were both in the ring exchanging blows. Lane
acted "gay" by "enjoying" the waistlock Lynn put on him. But Lynn
had enough and hit a drop toe hold in the corner on Lenny Lane. Lynn
almost went for the bronco buster, but instead he started to stomp
on Lane. Gertner then grabbed the leg of Jerry Lynn, which allowed
Lenny Lane to re-gain control of the match. Bruce came in, and
slammed Lynn into the mat. Lynn then somehow connected with some
legdrop off of the middle rope and got a two-count. Interesting spot
right there. Jerry Lynn then tagged in AJ Styles, who hit a spinning
kick on Bruce. But his back seemed to hurt him as he just wrestled a
X-Divsion Title match right before. So, he tagged Lynn back! in as
Lynn stomped Bruce in the corner of the ring. Lynn hit a boot in the
face and got a two-count after a bulldog. Bruce then hit Lynn with a
weak-looking kick, which allowed Bruce to tag in Lane again. But it
backfired, as Kynn nailed a jawbreaker on Lane and got a two-count.
Lynn then missed a dropkick when Lane stopped after going into the
ropes. Lane then applied a boston crab, but Styles came into break
it up with a clothesline before Lynn tapped. Bruce came in the ring
and nailed a powerslam and got a two-count after he was tagged in.
Bruce started to stomp Lynn, when Lane got him and gave him a
vertical suplex. He got a two-count after he was tagged in and
recorded the pin attempt. Lynn started to gain some power, but Bruce
then crushed Lynn's hopes with a sunset flip off of the second rope.
But Lynn kicked out after two! Lynn went for a headscissors, but
Bruce powered out of it and nailed a powerbomb. After a series of
counters and reversals, Lynn got a roll-up, b! ut Joel Gertner was
distracting the referee at ringside. Lynn hit a DDT as both men
tagged. Styles hit a move on Lane, and got a two-count. He then hit
a superkick and clothesline to get another near fall because Bruce
broke up the pin. Everyone then went everywhere after that, as
Styles hit a spiral tap from the top rope onto Lenny Lane to pick up
a SURPRISING victory over the Rainbow Express. They celebrated as
fireworks went off!
WINNERS: AJ STYLES AND JERRY LYNN (NEW NWA WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONS)

In the backstage area, we see NWA president was tied with rope
backstage with the letters "F U" written on his stomach.

We now see some footage from last week's show to show us how the
main event superstars came together.

MATCH #9: SCOTT HALL & BRIAN CHRISTOPHER VS. JEFF JARRETT AND K-
KRUSH
All four men started out the match by brawling and eventually
leading into the stands. Hall and Jarrett started to brawl in one of
the TNA girl dance cages. K-Krush and Brian Christopher managed to
get back into the ring. Christopher then hit a backdrop followed by
a superkick. Meanwhile, Hall was beating up Jarrett on the
announcers table as they found their way back. Christopher missed
the top rope legdrop, and Krush tossed him to the floor. Hall got in
and Krush tried to avoid a hiptoss, but was given a chokeslam. K-
Krush then rolled out, as Jarrett and Hall started to go one-on-one.
We finally get things organized here as Hall is in the ring with
Jeff Jarrett. Hall nails a clothesline on Jarrett, followed by some
dancing. He missed a charge into the corner because he danced. Scott
Hall was then tagged back in. Hall went to whip Jarrett, but it was
countered as Hall nailed Christopher by accident. Jarrett then
tagged in K-Krush, who went up top and nailed a drop! kick. He
followed that up with a forearm. He got the match's first pinfall, a
two-count. Jarrett then was tagged in and he hit a neckbreaker on
Scott Hall. He went for the pin, but got a near fall. Krush was
tagged in now, as he hit a leg lariat on Hall. He got another two-
count. Jarrett was now tagged in, as he hit a bodypress from the top
rope. Hall rolled through though, but got a two-count. Jarrett hit a
clothesline on Hall, but got yet another near fall. Jarrett then
grabbed Hall, and put him in a sleeper. Hall countered into a
sleeper of his own, though! But, Jarrett countered that by hiting a
jawbreaker and a back to back suplex. K-Krush was then tagged in, as
he locked in a chinlock on Hall. Hall then used his size and
strength to stand up, even with Krush on his back. He then fell
backwards creating a sandwich with him and the ring being the bread.
Jarrett then came in, but Hall clotheslined both of them. Hall went
to go tag Christopher after a long wait, but Christ! opher turned on
Hall by punching Hall right in the face! Jarrett then went after
Hall, but he got an atomic drop for his effors. Jarrett then hit the
referee. Hall then got up, and used his power to knock all three men
out! Hall hit his finisher, the Razor's Edge, on K-Krush but Jarrett
came back and clipped Hall. Hall tried to get his finished on
Jarrett, but Christopher came in the ring and kicked Hall in the
stomach. Jarrett then hit "the stoke" on Hall as Christopher hit his
Hip Hop Drop to pick up the victory for Jarrett & Krush as Jarrett
made the pinfall.
WINNERS: K-KRUSH AND JEFF JARRETT

Post-Match: Jeff Jarrett, K-Krush and Brian Christopher all
celebrated in the ring. Jarrett grabbed a microphone and said
Hall "wasn't worth a shit". Jarrett said he beat him in '95, '97 and
ran him out of the former WCW. He then said that the "boys up north"
ran him out of the WWF. Jarrett said he would run Hall out of the
NWA-TNA. Jarrett then took Tenay's NWA trophy and smacked Hall over
the head with hit. Jarrett said Hall was "run out of the nWo," and
he would run Hall out of the NWA. As EMT's attended to Hall, Jarrett
attacked him twice.

The announcers closed the show as we see Jarrett attacking Hall once
again.

(End Show)

NEXT WEEK:
~ Elix Skipper, Kid Romeo, Low Ki, Jerry Lynn, Tony Mamaluke and
Christopher Daniels in a Number One Contender for the X-Division
title match.
~ K-Krush vs. NASCAR driver Hermie Sadler
