-- SmackDown! was preempted in many more markets than usual this past
Thursday, and that is the main reason why the ratings suffered a huge
dip this week. The program was only available in about 78 percent of
the markets that are currently in the U.S., compared to the previous
numbers of around 85-86 percent of the markets. Since the show was
available in about 7 percent fewer homes than in the past month or
so, that would account for the huge piece of the ratings drop.
-- Kid Rock remade the song "Leg's" by ZZ Top for the upcoming WWF
CD, and as Stacy Keibler's new entrance theme. The WWF had first
contacted ZZ about it being done a few months back. The WWF at first
wanted the song to be remade by the band "Puddle of Mudd", but they
had not been approached at all before the settlement was made with
Kid Rock.
-- On a comedic note, Jerry Lawler was featured on the
show "Insomniac" on Comedy Central recently. Dave Atell, the host of
the show, travels week to week around to different cities, and on
this episode he was in Memphis. On this particular show he went into
different bars throughout the city, and he went into a club in
Memphis and speaked with Jerry "The King" Lawler. Towards the end we
saw Jerry refereeing a "Naked Jell-o Wrestling Match".
