Well, we're a few weeks away from the biggest PPV of the year. The
card is shaping up fairly well, if it were any other PPV I'd be
worried though. Since its Wrestlemania, I'm hoping there will be
extra effort, cuz lets face it: No Way Out was too relaxed.
Y2J vs HHH will be wonderful!! These two have always had great
matches against eachover and now they have a chance to wrestle in the
main spot in the biggest PPV of the year. HHH will probably win,
similar to how Austin won last year after coming back from a serious
injury. The only thing that could ruin this main event is non-stop
interference from McMahons (Vince has interfered in the main event
three years in a row now, why not make it four?) and Stephanie will
be in Jericho's corner so that's a given. The only other thing that
could ruin this match would be if Stephanie were to turn on Jericho
and reteam with HHH. This would be a poor choice and time for HHH to
turn heel and it would be waaay too close to Austin turning bad last
year.
The Rock vs Hulk Hogan. <groan> This match looks as if its going to
suck, but I have a feeling that we're all going to be surprised. The
interest in the match is there (though it should probably be Austin
vs Hogan). The thing is that Hogan and Rock both have a very limited
arsenal of moves yet they manage to do good jobs when they have a
good opponent to carry them (there's a reason why Rock's best matches
were with Jericho and Benoit). I am worried about this match, but it
will definitly sell... but may end up becoming an embarassment.
Scott Hall vs Stone Cold Steve Austin: I think this match is going to
be great, assuming Scott Hall doesn't get fired beforehand.
Kevin Nash: it will be interesting to see if he's even included. Out
of all the nWo members, Nash has been the most overlooked.
Kane vs Kurt Angle: This match will definitly be the sleeper of the
night. Kane and Angle have always had great matches too, and the
Wrestlemania setting will only encourage them to do their best. This
is also a good spot for Kane to be in, he's been in need of a good
push.
Billy and Chuck vs APA: I'd expect the same old, same old from these
teams. The feud leading to the PPV should be worth it though :)
Booker T vs Edge: This one is going to be great!!! Edge and Booker T
are both underrated! Hopefully a successful match here will boost
careers for both men the way Angle vs Jericho vs Benoit did back in
2000.
William Regal vs RVD: I don't see this match becoming a classic,
Regal is hard to work with (though he is quite talented). Honestly,
the only good matches I've seen Regal have were his ones with Crash
Holly, Al Snow, and Perry Saturn back when he first joined the
federation. His Jericho and Edge feuds have suffered. However, RVD
will probably win here and get that monster push he deserves.
So far this looks to be a good Wrestlemania. Jericho vs HHH will
become a classic and I honestly think Hogan vs Rock will surprise
cynics everywhere!
