in East Windsor, CT and this Saturday in Manhattan, NY when ROH

September 11th: ROH will have the honor of hosting new GHC
Heavyweight Champion Naomichi Marufuji this weekend. It will be
Marufuji & KENTA vs. Jay & Mark Briscoe on Friday and Marufuji vs.
Nigel McGuinness on Saturday. Marufuji defeated Jun Akiyama on 9/9
for the title. He is now the only grand slam champion in NOAH
history as he has won all of NOAH's titles. The GHC Heavyweight
Title is considered the most important belt in Japan and many
experts call it the most prestigious title in all of wrestlilng.
Congratulations to Naomichi Marufuji for the huge win.

September 11th: The first matches have been announced for 10/7 when
ROH returns to Detroit. A grudge match will have Homicide vs. Jay
Brisoce and a special challenge match will see Samoa Joe vs. Mark

September 11th: A Four Corner Survival has been added for this
Friday's event in East Windsor, CT. It will be Colt Cabana vs. Jack
Evans vs. Claudio Castagnoli vs. Jimmy Jacobs with Lacey. All four
of these competitors need a win here. Also signed for East Windsor
is the return of Dunn & Marcos as they take on graduates from the
ROH Wrestling School.

Strong have sent out open contracts all over the wrestling world for
10/27 in Dayton and 10/28 in Chicago. If they get past this weekend,
there is no telling what teams will challenge them in the future. We

September 11th: This week will feature the last ever ROH Video Recap
at ROHvideos.com. The ROH Video Recap will be replaced with the ROH
Video Wire, which will have better production values, a more defined

This Saturday in Manhattan will see new GHC Heavyweight Champion
Naomichi Marufuji put the belt on the line for the first time when
he defends against Nigel McGuinness. There are still tickets
available for ROH's debut in the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan
Center in Midtown Manhattan on September 16th at ROHwrestling.com or

Marufuji won the belt on 9/9 in Tokyo in front of over 15,000 fans
when he defeated Jun Akiyama in 27:29 with the perfect inside
cradle. Marufuji is now the 10th GHC Heavyweight Champion. Marufuji
is also now the first grand slam champion in NOAH as he has won all
of NOAH's titles. This exceptional athlete will make his return to
ROH this Friday in East Windsor, CT when he teams with KENTA to take
on The Briscoes and of course Saturday in NYC when he makes his
first GHC Heavyweight Title defense.

NOAH officials were very cooperative and quickly made the deal with
ROH for this huge match. Nigel McGuinness has had NOAH tours in the
past and is expected to return in the near future. The GHC
Heavyweight Title is considered the most important belt in Japan and
many wrestling experts call it the most prestigious title in the
entire business. The fact that NOAH is allowing Marufuji's belt to
be defended in ROH is an honor and will generate considerable
international interest in this Saturday's event.

GHC Heavyweight Title contests are known for producing must see
match of the year candidates. Now the already scheduled Marufuji vs.
McGuinness bout will have that intensity and importance behind it.
McGuinness is no stranger to title belts as he recently had an
almost one year run with ROH's Pure Title, which ended in a dramatic
bout on 8/12 in Liverpool, England vs. Bryan Danielson. McGuinness
put together an incredible Pure Title reign and is a formidable
challenger for Marufuji.

This completes the most important double main event in ROH history
as the final match of the evening will see ROH World Champion Bryan
Danielson defend the belt against NOAH's KENTA, who is undefeated in
ROH and has pinned Danielson twice. Having legendary WWWF Champion
Bruno Sammartino in the same building with ROH World Champion Bryan
Danielson and GHC Heavyweight Champion Naomichi Marufuji will be a
truly special event.
