Hello all, well last night I received my Father's Day present, a little
early, but still fun.
My son bought the family tickets to the farewell tour of KISS. The one thing
I noticed right off was the wide range of the age of the fans, as young as 5
or 6 up to grandparents !, you had your legions of fans who showed up in full
face paint, it was more of a performance than a concert.

The grades..

Skid Row C- mainly due to the fact that I knew little of their
material
Ted Nugent B the Motor City Madman was "on" his game
KISS A+++ if you are a KISS fan this is the show to see, they
played
than three hours, they came close to a sell out here in
Chattanooga, I had been to a KISS show in 78, this was
much
better, and yes, the ears are still ringing!

PS.. on a side note, Ted Nugent went on a ten minute "pro American" tirade,
making John Rocker seem like a saint, he did a song titled "kiss my @$$", in
which he insulted just about every minority, makes me wonder why the media
doesn't go after him??..........Dave

Ah yes. I would have to say that this was probably the best concert I have
ever been to. Considering I worship Metallica (who are also going on a 20
day tour on June 30), it takes a lot for some other band to impress me as
much as KISS did.

I had been trying to see them for their last three tours, and I finally saw
them on the tour that counted.

>The grades..
>Skid Row C- mainly due to the fact that I knew little of their material

Phillips Arena was all but empty when they showed up, but I would guess the
highlights of their performance were "I Remember You" and "Youth Gone Wild."
Still, everyone was still outside buying T-shirts and smoking.

>Ted Nugent B the Motor City Madman was "on" his game

The Nuge was awesome. I was introduced to his style through an LP of 77's
Cat Scratch Fever that my dad had stored. Not too many people can start me
up on my air guitar/headbanging tirade. :-)

KISS was absolutely unbelievable. The only other time I had seen one of
their concerts was a taped version of their Halloween show on FOX a few
years back, but everytime I had a chance to see them live, something always
came up.

The stage was filled with everything a pyro freak could want, and the end of
the show was something to remember. Gene is probably my favorite
"character" but Ace can play the heck out of his guitar too.

>PS.. on a side note, Ted Nugent went on a ten minute "pro American" tirade,

Cuz it's the Nuge!!!! ;-) I think it's expected or at least more common to
hear those kind of words from a music performer than it is for an athlete.
Why? Because it's all show. I mean, off stage, everyone knows about Nuge's
lifelong devotion to conservation. I mean, the guy hunts his own food (with
a bow, not a gun0 and eats everything. He's a member of a number of
anti-drug abuse organizations, and he's anti-alcohol too.

Am I saying that Rocker is a bad guy? No. but we all know how the media is.
I wouldn't expect the media coverage of a Nuge concert to be as big as
Rocker's arrival at spring training.

Glad you liked the show Dave, and if the tour stops by somewhere close to
anyone else, I highly recommend it.

Hello, the tickets can ONLY be had thru MTV.com thru Friday, then check with
the local Atlanta ticket agents, but I think not much will be left by then.
Brave ??, I think if my sons tries hard enough he can talk me into it, I also
think earplugs might be in order !! Also for those who don't want to shell
out the $$ to see the KISS concert I have a feeling that eventually we will
see portions of it on VH1, on the tickets it said "VH1 presents..."

It's not a question of having a bad outing or a bad series or week.
Rocker has been having problems of one kind or another all season long.
And one point I tried to make was that it isn't just Rocker who is
suffering for his dealings with the press and his loss of control. The
entire team has to be feeling some of the shock waves.
Is it fair to make the entire team put up with the hassles just because
Rocker can't stay away from the press and get his temper under control?

I don't think so,
Diana

His year is just about ruined already, but maybe he can still salvage
his career.

How do you figure that?...No one in this group even questioned Rocker after
he pitched well againest the Phillies....That may have been the only good
news during the trip! Rocker is struggling...but so are Millwood, Burkett,
Mulholland and I believe Ligtenburg had a bad outing on the road trip should
we send them down too? I don't think so!

They took a poll in Cincy over the weekend and 67% of the fans voted that the
Reds shpould trade Ken Griffey Jr. The Reds do have a wealth of young
outfielders (Dunn, Kearns and Mateo) and might be thinking this is the way to
get some pitching which has been a disaster thus far.

Should we get involved? I have no doubt Jr. would love to come to us and that
either he or Chipper would have to buy a 1B mitt. What do all of you think?

If "we" get involved, I would say make a deal to get Adam Dunn ! He'd be a
great target at first, and his offensive upside looks great ! I wouldn't
waste the talent trying to get Junior. If he can't stay healthy enough to
play at "home," why trade for a guy to sit with Bobby ? That's what he's got
DeRosa for !

Problem is that Dunn isn't available at all and if he was then Cincy's brass
needs to get their heads examined.

Mo Vaughn learned yesterday that the bats he has been swinging were heavier than
he believed.
Vaughn normally swings a 36-ounce bat, but the ones he's been using were
actually 38 and 39 ounces, even though they were listed at 36. Vaughn believes
the heavier bats have caused his sore arm and have also hurt his power numbers.
He switched to lighter bat yesterday, so maybe his numbers will begin to improve
soon. Source: Newsday

This was from Rotoworld. Either Mo is stupid or he's making excuses.

Braves signed outfielder Jermaine Allensworth to a minor league contract.
The Braves continue to stock up on outfield depth. Allensworth is behind Bo
Porter on the depth chart and doesn't have much of a chance of seeing action
with the Braves. Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

I'm wondering what the Braves are doing.
