Taiping Hash, February 10

One month a year, the Taiping Hash forsakes the beautiful trails and mountains of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces to run on the desolate, windswept mudflats of Pudong. This is the month.

 

The run starts at the Sanjiagang beach resort, which is on the coast between Shanghai Links and the airport. We will bash at the run site.

 

There will be a long and short split. The trail could be rather muddy. It is not expected to be as warm as it was when we were there last time in August a couple of years ago.

 

Please reply by Wednesday, February 7 if you plan to come. (Note: for March, the Taiping Hash will probably use the Evite system to send out announcements and generate a list for the bus.)

 

Also, the March run is March 3. The hares are Camel and Catch-of-the-Day.

The Details:

Date: Saturday, February 10

Location: Sanjiagang

Time: We estimate the run will start at 1 p.m. We plan to start the bash by 4 p.m., leave by 6 p.m., and be back at the Portman by 7 p.m.

Times for the bus:

10:45 a.m. Hongqiao, The Book Depository, which is the bus stop opposite The Grassy Knoll, on YanĄŻan Road at the intersection of Hongxu Road.

11:15 a.m. Puxi, Portman Ritz Carlton, 1376 Nanjing Xi Road, meet outside by the Starbucks

11:30 a.m. Pudong, Lujiazui, opposite Information Tower, the first bus stop on Century Blvd. after leaving the Yan'an tunnel.

12:00 noon Pudong, Jinqiao Starbucks, 633 Biyun Road, by Carrefour

Hares: The former GM, Plug the Dykes

Cost: Hopefully, less than usual.
