Taiping Hash: January 13
This month, the Taiping Hash risks everything with a run set by Jean-
Pierre and Damien. The pair of Frenchmen will take the group to
Xishan, which is an island in Lake Taihu near Suzhou.
Only the words of Jean-Pierre can accurately describe the setting:
¡°Some uphill places and some downhill places, and on the Taihu
lakeshore... some places could really compete with the French
Riviera, if they were not so polluted...¡±
Jean-Pierre is currently in Europe and will not arrive back in
Shanghai until shortly before the run.
¡°Some paths are not really paths, so it is better to wear something
longer than shorts. If it is cold it should not hurt anyway,¡± he
said. ¡°I do not know the exact length of the trail. I have to check
maybe with Google earth.¡±
There apparently will be a long/short split.
The bash location has rooms if you want to stay the night. Call

We will run even if there is a typhoon. but we have noticed that when
it is raining in Shanghai on the morning of a run, it is always sunny
at the run site.
