The Taiping Hash marches out to Hangzhou on Saturday, May 21 with a
run through the tea plantations starting from legendary West Lake.
We are planning a ball-breaker through the hills, as well as a
shorter trail for those of more leisurely ambitions.
Date: Saturday, May 21
Location: West Lake, Hangzhou. The run will start at the Hangzhou
Shangri-la Hotel, which is located at 78 Beishan Road. The run is an
A-B run.
Time: We estimate that the run will start between 1 p.m. and 2
p.m. It depends on the traffic and the number of demonstrators in
Shanghai.
Times for the buses:
8:30 a.m. Pudong--Jinqiao Starbucks, 633 Biyun Road, by Carrefour
9 a.m. Puxi, Portman Ritz Carlton, 1376 Nanjing Xi Road, meet outside
by the Starbucks
9:15 a.m. Hongqiao, Renaissance Yangtze Jiang, 2099 Yan An Xi Road
Cost: Hopefully under RMB130. Depends on the number of people that
show up. If you go to Hangzhou on your own, we will provide a slight
discount.
Hare: Nicolas
Lunch: Jean has agreed to make everyone a sandwich for the bus trip.
Bash: In a rustic teahouse set amidst the tea fields with a view of
the sun setting over West Lake, or at least something approaching
that ideal.
Please RSVP to

if you end up not being able to come, please tell us. We need to have
somewhat accurate estimates so we can book the buses and the
restaurant.
Please also RSVP in case you plan to go to Hangzhou on our own and
will meet us at the run site. For anyone who wants to make a weekend
out of Hangzhou, here is the website for the hotel where we will
