Taiping Hash, January 21

This month, something a bit different for the Taiping Hash. No
mountains this time. Instead, a nearby, flat run that features not
one, but two Ming dynasty temples.

We will run in bucolic Pudong northwest of the airport, starting from
a Taoist temple and finishing at a Buddhist temple.

The bash will be in the Buddhist temple at the finish. The monks have
assured us that we can drink to our hearts' content in the restaurant
and outside the main gate of the temple. (But no drinking in the
temple areas. Please.)

The food will, of course, be vegetarian.

FRBs should be around 1 hour 15 minutes. Everyone else should be able
to finish in around two hours. This is a rather long run and could be
muddy. There will be a short run split.

The bus will start at the Portman. There will not be a Hongqiao pick
up.

Please tell us if you plan to drive so we can give you directions and
so we can load your car up with people if we run out of space on the
bus.

As always, please RSVP if you plan to come. We need to tell the monks
how many bashers are coming.

The Details:

Date: Saturday, January 21

Location: Longwang Temple, Pudong

Time: We estimate the run will start at 1 p.m. We plan to start the
bash by 4 p.m., leave by 6 p.m., and be back at the Portman by 7 p.m.

Times for the buses:

11:15 a.m. Puxi, Portman Ritz Carlton, 1376 Nanjing Xi Road, meet
outside by the Starbucks

11:30 a.m. Pudong, Lujiazui, opposite Information Tower, the first
bus stop on Century Blvd. after leaving the Yan'an tunnel.

12:00 noon Pudong, Jinqiao Starbucks, 633 Biyun Road, by Carrefour

(It should be fairly easy to get a taxi to the start and from the
finish back to Shanghai.)

Hares: The GM, DVD Pirate, and Beaver BF

Cost: Hopefully, well below RMB100.

Bash: Vegetarian

If you plan to come, please send a message to
jeffrey.wilson@... by Thursday, January 19.

Questions? Including on the day itself
