Taiping Hash: November 15, More Details

The Taiping Hash returns to the Taihu Lake Scenic Mountain area for
our 100th run.

The hares report:

¡§Starting on the tranquil shores of Taihu Lake, a spectacular run
through rolling hills of orange groves. Oranges, one of Taihu's
indigenous products, have been cultivated here for nearly 5,000
years.

The tourist brochures reads "Autumn is the orange harvest season, as
the fruits radiate delightful color, are easily peeled with intense
flavor, juicy and fragrant."

The scenery will gradually change as hashers ascend into the park.
Following rocky dirt farm paths into dense natural beauty, one will
only see flowers, trees and courtyards, briefly losing sight of
Taihu Lake. As the run progresses, the hares plan to challenge the
pack with cleaver checks in the world famous Longlin Tea
plantations. The trail will twist and roll through pine forests and
high stone rock formations, with Taihu Lake suddenly jumping into
sight. The run will end in a secluded spot surrounded by natural
scenery, supplemented with gardens and pagodas.

To quote one local on hiking in the area "Leisurely wandering around
the area, you are fresh-minded, more elegant, somewhat unearthly,
healthy and youthful as well. A walk in the mountains will surely
bring you great joy."

The run site is allegedly only 90 minutes from the Grassy Knoll.

Note: The bus times have been moved up 30 minutes earlier from the
past few runs.
