Taiping Hash, June 25, The Recovery Run   Message List

After last month's ambitious run in Hangzhou, we decided this month
to do a shorter run that is a bit closer to town.

This month, Jean and David take us to Xishan Island for a run on
virgin trails through picturesque villages and peach orchards, with a
few moderate hills thrown in for good measure. The run will be about
an hour with walkers able to finish in about 90 minutes. We guarantee
it.

Xishan Island is located in Lake Taihu. Getting there is roughly like
going to Suzhou and taking a left. In other words, not that far away
from Shanghai. A new road will speed us there and back in record
time, or so Jean says.

Here are some views of where we are going: www.xishanfengjing.com/

The Details:

Date: Saturday, June 25

Location: Xishan Island, Lake Taihu

Time: We estimate the run will start around 1:30 p.m. We plan to
start the bash by 5 p.m., leave by 7 p.m., and be back in Shanghai by
9:30 p.m.

Times for the buses:

9:15 a.m. Pudong, Jinqiao Starbucks, 633 Biyun Road, by Carrefour
10 a.m. Puxi, Portman Ritz Carlton, 1376 Nanjing Xi Road, meet
outside by the Starbucks
10:15 a.m. Hongqiao, The Grassy Knoll, Yan'an Road by Hongxu Road

Hares: Jean & David

Cost: Hopefully around RMB130.

Bash: Along the lake in a quality hotel restaurant.

Please RSVP to jeffrey.wilson@... by Thursday, June 23. We
need to have somewhat accurate estimates of who is going in order
that we can book the buses and the restaurant. Please also RSVP if
you plan to take your own transportation to the run site.
