Subject: Bike Lockers Available
The City of Chico recently installed 8 new bicycle lockers at the Fir Street Caltrans Park and Ride site. The City took control of the locker area from Caltrans rather than seeing the old facility torn down and not reconstruction. This location not only has bike lockers and the Caltrans Park and Ride, but also has Butte County’s B-Line bus stop. Regional buses on routes 20 to Oroville, route 41 to Paradise and Magalia, and Chico inner city route 5 all use this bus stop.
Currently, there are two lockers available and the annual fee is about $100. To reserve a bike locker or to get on a future waiting list, citizens can call the City of Chico Finance Department at (530) 879-7320

The bicycle locker program is part of the City’s on-going efforts to promote bicycling to work, school, shopping and other errands as a healthy and inexpensive alternative to driving.
