Just received this e-mail from our Parks Volunteer Coordinator, Lise Smith-Peters:
There are only a few trail days left of the spring trail season in Upper Park. Next week, the trail crew will be working on a large restoration/realignment project of the Middle Trail. If you are interested in learning true trail skills, this project involves the art and science of trail work.
- Tomorrow--Saturday 5/31, the trail work day begins at 7 am (you can arrive whenever) and will continue until noon or longer for those wanting to continue. Hooked on Fishing will be taking place so the earlier you arrive--the better. PARKING LOT B (near Easter Cross) is where you should meet to work on the Middle Trail. (*parking lot E was advertised but B is the one!!);
- Tuesday 5/3 through next Saturday 5/7, the trail crew will be working on the Middle Trail and volunteers can join the crew at parking lot C (Chico Community Observatory). Workday is 7 am to 2:00 pm
If the trail crew is not right at the parking lot when you arrive, look north and you should see them working on the trail. Wear closed-toed shoes, sunscreen and hat. Instruction, tools and water provided. You should bring your own water container if possible.
Please come out and join the crew, YOUR TIME AND HELP DEEPLY APPRECIATED!
Have a good weekend!
Lise
