Hi Everyone! So, after much discussion and feedback, we've finally decided on a
date for Chico Corsa Cycling Club's June Messilla Valley Circuit Race. And the
winner is..........two dates!!
June 14th and
June 21st
Chico Corsa will be having back-to-back weekends of the Messilla Valley race for
June - so if you can't make one, come out to the other......or, if you're really
into pain, do both!!
One big change this time around will be the time - Registration will open at
8:00AM with the "A" Category race going off at 8:30AM, and the "B" Category
going at 8:31AM. However, the laps will remain the same - 10 laps for each
race(sorry - I know, I'm the devil).
The Messilla Valley Course is approximately 3.5 miles in length with about 300
feet of climbing per lap. 10 laps = 35 miles and 3,000 feet of climbing. We will
have more water containers at the Start/Finish Line this time around too. The
Start/Finish(and registration area) is located at the top of the hill near the
intersection of Messilla Valley Road and Pentz Road. For a map of the course,
please click on the link below:

And yes, mini-trophies will be awarded to the winner of the "A" Category and the
"B" Category - so come on out and give it a shot! This is really good training
for a variety of events. But sandbagging will not be allowed!
Again, most USCF rules apply to these races - you know, wear a helmet, don't be
stupid, ride correctly and all that good stuff.
For those of you driving to the course, Spring Valley School is approximately
1-mile from the Start/Finish.......or you can park at Butte College and ride to
the start(great warm-up and cool-down, with a store along the way). Parking on
the course is discouraged.
Anyway, hope to see you out there!!
