Bushman Hash

When: Sat Nov 21, 2PM

Location: Indian Road Woods. ( Approximately 5900 N and 5500 W) Take the blue line to Jefferson Park and then the Central bus to Indian Road. Driving, get to Central and Elston and head north about a half mile on Central. Central takes a slight S turn to the right and the woods entrance is on the right after the last house and before the bridge.

Weather: 55 degrees and partly cloudy.

The Bushman Hash is all woods all of the time.

Expect to see nature, deer, and jumping over logs and stuff.

The finish is in the woods for a short circle

and then the hash adjourns to a local pub

for those that want to continue.

On Tue Dec 1, 7PM, we will have another Chicago Full Moon Hash

this time hared by Rhotan. RHOTAN, we need a location.

On Sat Dec 12, 2PM we will have another Big Dog Hash. Hare and location ?????

On Fri Dec 18, 7PM will be the First Crack of the Moon Hash, hared by Horn-E and Just Ashley and it will be a Christmas Lights hash and gift exchange. The Moon Hashes brought the gift exchange idea to Chicago and we steal gifts. Its fun. Hmmm! We will hash out of the Lodge on Division St. No pitchers so no hash cash. It will be a buy your own night. This will be the day before the Chicago Hash Anthrax hash. Maybe some visitors will join us. Its Too Soft has mentioned it on the Anthrax announcement. Thanks.

to the Chicago Anthrax Hash scheduled for 3PM, off probably at 3:30PM. This arrangement was worked out with Its Too Soft so that the two hashes wouldn't compete, but instead compliment each other. This is also listed in the Anthrax announcement. Now we'll see if any visitors can handle our woods.

So, there is the Chicago Area Hash Challenge.

Do all three in 24 hours if you dare.

On Tue Dec 30 or Fri Jan 1 will be a Chicago Full Moon Hash. We need a hare. Hare picks the date.

First Crack of the Moon Hash #143

It was, Tuesday, Nov 17, at 7PM

It was at, 901 W. Madison Glory Hole's place.

The Hares were: Glory Hole and The KGB

Crop Duster, Horn-E, Just Christian and Lower Wackoff braved this trail that had us crawling under a fence within two blocks as we entered a new construction zone. Foundation holes, mountains of muddy dirt and hidden beer. But after the beer it was again sliding under the fence on our backs and off for a west of Greektown loop. We eventually headed over to I 94 / I 90 and all of the entrance and exit ramps under construction. Down to the Expressway as we ran through the mud and around the construction equipment. We even ran the ramps between the north and south bound highways. Survived it all and then went for beer. Here we eventually named Glory Hole's room mate, Meghan. She will forever more be know as Balcon. You need to speak Bulgarian to know what it means. Next time be there and learn first hand.

Thirstday Hash on Nov 19 was hared by Happy Ass Grabber from Rick's Place on South Western. We had fifteen brave souls at the start, The KGB joined us on trail. Shiggy Packer joined us on the hill. and Slippery Box joined us at the finish. All of you who were afraid to head into that area had nothing to fear. Sort of. We were led by a visitor, Ghetto Man from San Diego. Yeah, what a hero. All right, he was faster then a speeding bullet, but stepping on broken glass as he made a turn was like stepping on wet ice. Down he went. At the beer stop we saw the blood pouring down his leg. At the finish he noticed his shorts were soaked with blood and was flashing his bloody ass all over the bar. And I was eating a rare hamburger. We did run through the local neighborhoods east of Western at the start. As we crossed Western on the back part of the course, Ghetto Man headed north on a Split. Some local heard him yell something and thought it was a couple crossing the street and started his trash talking as he crossed the street. Horn-E yelled out, look, our first fight. He might have been right. We weaved through some open fields and finally up on some tracks and over to this huge weed covered hill where beer was waiting at the top. We all made it. Then we finally saw Shiggy Packer scampering up the hill, tired, out of breath and whiter then normal. I think he had the shit scared out of him and was running for his life. He ran into one bum who threatened him with a broken bottle. But Shiggy Packer can run and bums can't. Then he was stopped by the cops. Why? Just because he was running and there was a shooting in the area. But he produced a hash shirt and one of the cops said, "Oh, your with those runners that drink and sing dirty songs." Saved by a hash shirt and our drunken, lewd reputation. SnatchSquatch led circle, we drank beer and all went home safely. And you can believe every word from your hash scribe. Sure you can.

Now volunteer to hare a moon hash. Or any hash because we all need the help.

Generally the beer selection at 99% of the joints sucks.... Tsingtao, Heineken, Stella, Guinness (no widget), and Carlsberg. Although we did find a couple of Irish Bars with some decent tap beers.

If you aren't from Chicago, Madison is the dividing line between north and south in Chicago. The location is just west of downtown and one block west of Greektown and Halsted Street. The last time we hashed from his place we had over 55 hashers and ended up on his roof deck.

By Car - I-90 (Kennedy) west to Central (exit 83B?). Go north on Central
a few blocks to the giant cluster-f**k intersection of Foster/Central/
Northwest Highway/Milwaukee. Veer left onto Milwaukee and drive a mile
or so to 5734.

By CTA - Blue line to Jefferson Park, then Pace bus 270 (Milwaukee Ave)
to 5734. Bus departs from Jefferson Park every 20 minutes.

You can also take CTA bus 68 (Northwest Highway) from Jefferson Park.
Get off at Austin and walk 3 blocks north to Milwaukee. Turn right and
walk a block southeast. This bus also operates every 20 minutes.

The bar is only 1.5 miles from Jefferson Park so walking is also an
option.

By Metra - Not a great option. Jefferson Park is the nearest station
with service on Saturday.
