Sox Party, July 28th   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #2126 of 4063 |
OK, OK, I’ve heard enough!! The 3d (or 4th, or 5th, or whatever…) Annual
White Sox Party at Mudsucker’s Abode is a “go”

Date: Saturday, July 28th, Dogs and Beer at 4:30, White Sox game at 6:05,
Sox Park fireworks after the game, beer after-after the game (ON-IN-IN)
Venue: Mudsucker’s Abode, 3520 S. Wallace
What: BBQ with keg, Sox game, fireworks, finish the keg. A-to-A walk….

First, sorry that the Cubs fans going to Sin City for the weekend adventure
cannot make it, but wanted to do it on a fireworks night! And besides it is
about the only open night in July that also has fireworks….. And since the
Sox suck this year, getting tickets should not be hard (last year we couldn’t
get tickets so we had to sit in the back yard and drink all night – terrible
thing but someone had to do it!).

We will have real Chicago hot dogs (even with celery salt!) and a keg of good
beer (NOT BUD) starting about 4:30. Game starts at 6:05, so we will leave to
walk over sometime after 6 pm (usually get there about 6:15 or 6:30). We will
sit in the cheap seats in the upper deck, which are great for the fireworks
after the game!!! Then traipse back to the “A” to float the keg.

I will get tickets on Tuesday, July 24th for anyone who has given me the money
in advance (if you don’t, you are on your own to get a ticket, or sit on my
deck and drink beer!). If by some weird circumstance the Sox are sold out, the
party will go on and ticket money will, of course, be refunded. Cost for the
tickets is $20 plus $4.50 for Ticketmaster (even if I buy them at the park, they
get their cut). I am asking for some hash cash (say, five bucks to make it
about $30 for the whole evening) to cover the keg and the dogs, etc. Yeah, and
we might have some brots, burgers, etc. for the non-doggers.

Directions, you say!

I strongly recommend the Red Line. Exit at 35th street, walk west on 35th
street past Sox Park through the viaduct to the stop light (Wallace). Turn left
to 3520, big yellow two flat.

By car, exit the Ryan at 31st (35th exit is not open at this time), right on
31st to Wallace, left to 3520. NOTE: You cannot park by my house on the street
without a parking pass. I will have a few of them, but you need to arrange it
with me first, or plan on parking west of Halsted.
