The Rush were dominant last Sunday at home against the Orlando
Predators winning by the largest margin of victory in team history,
58-15. The Rush played one of the better defensive games I have seen
in the AFL recording 7 sacks (a team record), nearly unheard of in
this league and 6 turnovers. Philyaw, while he was in, played
nearly perfect going 8/9 for 139 yards and 3 TDs. "Big Country"
Chad Salisbury also played well in his first action of the season
going 8/11 for 67 yards and a TD, though he did get sacked, the
first of the year allowed by the Rush. Jeremy McDaniel led a
balanced receiving core with 5 catches for 100 yards and 2 TDs. He
was one of 7 players to catch a pass, including James Baron. He had
his first reception and first touchdown of the season on Sunday.
Not all the news was good though. DS Malcolm Moore, who had just
signed and was playing his first game for the Rush, broke his left
tibia and fibia and is out for the year after undergoing successful
surgery, and the doctor expects him to have a 4-6 month recovery
time. FB/LB Levelle Brown suffered a right shoulder sublexation and
his status is unknown. Philyaw tweaked his right shoulder but it
wasn't serious and will be good to go against the Fury.
