It was a very exciting game yesterday. Overall, a very good
performance by the Rush. My only concern is the Rush needs to go for
the juggler and take the opposing team out of the game when the
opportunity is there. The Rush get a couple touchdowns ahead and then
they sputter until the score gets closer. The defense missed some
tackles and gave up some easy touchdowns yesterday. And the offense
sputtered at times and resulted in Gispert kicking field goals a few
times. Oh how I hold my breath when Gispert kicks. He made all his
field goal attempts, but missed an extra point. Also in many games
this year, the Rush have taken the opening kickoff the second half,
and then fizzed out on the drive to take control of the game.
Yesterday was no exception, however they woke up when the drive
looked done, and scored a very important touchdown. But in the end,
we pulled it off and won. Next up, San Jose...in San Jose. By the
way, if the Rush beat San Jose, and Colorado can beat Arizona;
Chicago will still host the Arena Bowl. But most important is to beat
San Jose, so the Rush can be in their very first Arena Bowl game.
