That person can show you how to skate, which is much more effective
than telling you. They can also watch you skate and tell you which
things you are doing well, and which things would be better done
differently.

If you don't know how to find someone locally, tell us approximately
where you live, and what you have done to try to find someone. We'll
work with you to find someone locally.

The "tape" which was mentioned, I think is actually a CD. I don't
know how to get it, perhaps someone else does. I don't think it is
anything which anyone in this group would send to you just because
you asked for it; it's something you would buy. One source

Yeah I read it too.

I heard Bart Schouten say in an interview in a dutch program that he would
stay in America the next couple of years.

Bart's move isn't especially significant, and I don't even consider it
a problem, althogh I haven't asked Chad specifically.

US Speedskating has a new President, Vice President, and Treasurer.
The Executive Director has resigned, no replacement has been
announced. They are discussing moving headquarters to Salt Lake,
Milwaukee, or Colorado Springs. Other people are on the way out.

All this is natural and good. We're starting a new 4 year cycle. The
past people have done well, one of the most successful sports programs
in the world. It's intense work, some of them want to get a life.

But not everything has been perfect. Some people are concerned that
Chad and others weren't training with the team, so there's a goal of a
coach for him that can cooperate with the team. Surely the image of
speedskating projected during the Olympics media coverage wasn't
ideal. The men's long track team is great, but the other 3 (women's
and short track) teams didn't seem to perform as well. Many skaters
will be replaced, as older ones move on.

If Chad wants to train in Germany, he can. He'll not be the first USA
Olympian to train in Europe. Virtually everyone on the team travels
somewhere to train.  And Chad's sponsor is European, next door to
Germany.

No great urgency to rush to a solution. There's no ice at Salt Lake
until July 19 or so, the same in Milwaukee. Yes, Chad is training, but
it's dryland and inline. And he does know something about skating, has
conducted training sessions which people paid to attend. And he works
with other skaters who will tell him of defects he doesn't notice.

There'll be much exciting happening in skating during the next few
months, even if there's no ice. We've got a great future.

Bart Schouten go, and he announced today that he'll be the German Mens
Allround Coach.

Let's hope this problem gets solved ASAP, because other skaters have

What an interesting assortment of judges.  They seem to have quite a
few male athletes on the judging panel.

Hope he doesn't chat up a contestant by accident like Kwami from the

I think I know why they closed their accounts. There was this person who
said he or she was a personal friend of chad and lynsey. So he reads this
topics and so that person could have told them, or maybe they read the
topics as well, I don't know. But why should we mind that Chad has a
girlfriend, we will never meet the guy. I respect him a lot and because of
him I switched to speedskating too. But of course peoples personal lifes are
very interesting for the fans, I do think it sucks that they have closed
their accounts. But what can you do about it. It would be really cool if
he's gonna be the next bachelor so we can enjoy him again.

I'm sure nobody was offended by your opinion.  I like it
when everybody says what they think, whether I agree with
it or not. That's what keeps a forum interesting!  Please
don't stop saying what you think...

I agree with you on most of the things you said.  I was simply
stating that I don't think anyone thinks about what their Olympic
status and/or friendships with Olympians can turn out to be when they
start posting things like that.
