Imagine when you were a kid riding mountain bikes, BMX, Road, or your
big wheel you had a drive to compete. Better yet you did so well at racing
that you made it to a national level with a chance to be on the World
Championship Cyclocross Team, Team USA! One thing stands in your way.
Funding! Imagine your desire to cycle, to be a Lance Armstrong but
just to get to that point you have to depend on your team mates and
coach helping with everything. Having to ride a borrowed bike since
you can't afford your own. We have one such underdog right here in
Olympia. Our own young Rocky Balboa on a bike. Gabe Watson
(http://www.radracingnw.org/bio.php?id=144)riding on the RAD Racing
Team. He needs $600 to help him go to New Jersey next month for two
races and Kansas City in December for the National Championships.
Their are 94 members on this Yahoo board. Just $5 from each of us
will send him to represent Olympia cycling on a national level and
maybe a world level. He is a clean cut rally nice kid who I would like
to help all I can. Two other members of the team have qualified for
the Nationals and additional funds could always be used to help. If
you prefer a larger donation to the team as a whole they are selling
Christmas wreaths.
