RSVP 2008 sold out!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #201 of 287 |
Hi Folks,
Well, I was going to register to ride RSVP 2008 but as it turns out,
it's sold out. The plan had been to open registration for Cascade
members from Jan 1-31. Then open registration to non-members on Feb
1. Well, the ride sold out in 12 days! It would have been nice if
Cascade had held back some registration spots for non-members but I
guess they decided to bogart the whole ride.
I did contact the ride director to make sure there was no mistake. He
politely reminded me that anyone can become a member of Cascade and
thus secure a ride spot next year.

So, I have a new plan. I normally do this one as a two day ride
anyway. So, that makes it feasible carry all my own food and supplies.
I figure I can buy anything I may need along the way. That way I
won't use any registered ride supplies. If anyone is interested in
leaching this ride with me let me know. I plan to keep the speeds low
(16-18) rather than blasting through it. It's a much nicer ride than
STP. Vancouver is a lot more fun than Portland as well.

Regards,
-Tony
