Re: [carriageassociation] tracey morgan driving clinic

Barbara,

This sounds like a wonderful opportunity.  I do hope it won't conflict with the only combined driving event in Texas -- Plum Creek CDE -- set for April 26-27 in Lockhart, Texas.   Texas used to be the home of 3 CDE's every year, but various problems -- not the least of which was loss of properties large enough to host such events --brought each of them to a close.  Now we have one struggling to take hold near Lockhart, Texas, and it's suffered the usual growing pains during these first couple of years.  The number of entries has grown, but still needs to fill out more.  The organizers have had to cut back from twice a year (fall and spring) to only a spring date.  In order for us to keep this event we need competitors and volunteers.

If the clinic is set any other weekend, I would like more info in order to see if I could plan to bring my Morgan gelding.  A thought -- the month of May is National Carriage Driving Month -- could she plan her clinic/lessons in our area during that month if not in April?  Check the driving events calendar at the HACA web site for available dates.

Best wishes as you proceed with an opportunity from which all of us in the area would benefit.

Expect Miracles!

CAT

Subject: [carriageassociation] tracey morgan driving clinic

Hi to all, I know many of you but have yet to meet others. I just spoke
with Tracey Morgan, and she told me she might be available to give a
clinic/individual lessons in late April. (For those of you who do not
know her, she competes nationally and internationally with a Dartmoor
ponies--she has been to the world championships in Europe for the past
three years!) She takes students with any type of equine at any level
(please don't bring a horse to be hitched for the first time!)and gives
a great lesson. I'm happy to host this event in Cypress, but I'd
really appreciate your feedback to see how many of you would be able to
take advantage of her being here. Also, any ideas are welcome and
appreciated in the formation of this event. I look forward to hearing
from you soon,

Barbara Ferrer
