World No. 125 Philipp Petzschner advanced to his maiden ATP semifinal
after beating 2003 finalist and former World No. 1 Carlos Moya of
Spain 6-4, 6-2 in 62 minutes during the night session in Vienna on
Friday. The 24-year-old, who reached the Bangkok quarterfinals (l. to
Monfils) two weeks ago, hit 10 aces and saved two break points he
faced to improve to 8-8 at ATP-level this year. Mallorca native Moya,
32, dropped to 28-22 on the season.
