MOYA OVERCOMES FERRERO, WILL FACE VOLANDRI IN FINAL Feb. 18, 2006

Spaniard Carlos Moya, seeded fifth, upset his countryman Juan Carlos
Ferrero, seeded third, 3-6, 7-6 (3), 6-4 in the semifinals of the
Copa Telmex tournament in Buenos Aires Saturday.

Moya advances to his third Buenos Aires final in the last four years.
He won the event in 2003 and was runner-up a year later. Moya, once
No. 1 in the world, improved his career record against Ferrero,
another former No. 1, to 5-7, beating him for the third straight
time.

Buenos Aires marks Moya's second final of the year. He lost to Ivan
Ljubicic in Chennai last month.

Moya will face Filippo Volandri of Italy, seeded sixth, who beat
hometowner Agustin Calleri Saturday 6-3, 6-4 in the other semifinal.
Volandri evened his career record with Calleri at 1-1.

Volandri has a career mark of 1-4 against Moya. The two last played
in Madrid last year, with Moya winning in straight sets.

This will be Volandri's first final since October in Palermo. He lost
in the first round at Buenos Aires last year.
