Re: Caracas HHH Hello From the Holyland - from Jay & Nicol

Jay/Nicole,
I am so furious after reading the 'damage report'. It's made my blood boil.
Commiserations,
Iain
PS Venez sucks .net and .info is available, why don't you get it and put that report on it?

Hello Caracas Hashers,

Nicole and I would like to use this note to say hello from the Holyland.  We also would like to pass on some of our experiences, and to solicit inputs from anyone who has recently moved and had damage to their containers.

Firstly though, I'd like to thank Manny for seamlessly taking over as the CHHH Webmaster.  We went through a barrage of online training and it seems to have paid off... so much so that no one even misses my work!  Also Fredy, good work in keeping the group together; we look forward to keeping up with your activities.

As far as our status, we arrived to Tel Aviv in September to begin our four-year assignment in Israel.  On the second week here, we joined the Holyland HHH on their run #700, which was written up in the Jerusalem Post; click here for article .  Even though this group is mainly for serious runners and they shamefully don't offer sangria ... yet, we will try to join them periodically; Holyland HHH site.

Overall we have enjoyed our first months in Tel Aviv.  Initially we were kept busy looking for an apartment and getting to know the city:  Click here for Jay's Introduction to Israel.

We recently received our container and have been unpacking and moving into the apartment.  Unfortunately we found a lot of damage & theft  ... and we think it was due to the people who inspected the container for drugs at the port in Venezuela. If you have moved recently, or know anyone who has ...  please review the following link and let us know if anyone else experienced similar damage.  The embassy will lodge a complaint with the VE government and any extra information would be useful.   Click here for Jay's damage report.

Keep in touch and ON ON!

Jay & Nicole (  jayzuela@...  )
